چکیده
Through the synthesis of a focused library and SAR investigations, a more potent analogue of gemmacin (discovered in a previous diversity-oriented synthesis (DOS) campaign), gemmacin B, was discovered.

Pre-emption with or without Pre-task Planning: A Probe into L2 Lexical Diversity
The current study, setting a two-fold goal, attempted to see whether the preemptive focus on form (FonF) under either planned or unplanned conditions could contribute to increasing lexical diversity in written narratives and, second, to find whether there was a trade-off between the lexical diversity and accuracy. To this end, 32 beginner learners were selected following a Quick Oxford Placemen...
متن کاملTrends in flower symmetry evolution revealed through phylogenetic and developmental genetic advances.
A striking aspect of flowering plant (angiosperm) diversity is variation in flower symmetry. From an ancestral form of radial symmetry (polysymmetry, actinomorphy), multiple evolutionary transitions have contributed to instances of non-radial forms, including bilateral symmetry (monosymmetry, zygomorphy) and asymmetry. Advances in flowering plant molecular phylogenetic research and studies of c...
متن کاملEFL Teachers’ Understanding of the Teaching Portions of INSET Programs
This study aimed to identify the portions of teaching materials for English classes in Iran’s high schools. The efficiency of these materials was evaluated by (a) eliciting the teachers’ perception of the materials to identify their distribution portions and (b) studying the teachers’ satisfaction to identify whether the materials were successful to develop the EFL teachers’ knowledge and skill...
متن کاملBringing microbial diversity into focus: high-resolution analysis of iron mats from the Lō'ihi Seamount.
Thirty kilometers south of the island of Hawai'i lies the Lō'ihi Seamount, an active submarine volcano that hosts a network of low-temperature hydrothermal vents enriched in ferrous iron that supports extensive microbial mats. These mats, which can be a half a meter deep, are composed of ferric iron bound to organic polymers - the metabolic byproduct of iron-oxidizing Zetaproteobacteria. Though...
متن کاملBringing Molecules Back into Molecular Evolution
Much molecular-evolution research is concerned with sequence analysis. Yet these sequences represent real, three-dimensional molecules with complex structure and function. Here I highlight a growing trend in the field to incorporate molecular structure and function into computational molecular-evolution work. I consider three focus areas: reconstruction and analysis of past evolutionary events,...
