چکیده
Dr. Jill Hoffman is a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Harry Pothoulakis in the Division of Digestive Diseases, University of California, Los Angeles, supported by a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health. She obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Vermont where she studied enteric neuroscience with Dr. Gary Mawe. Her current work seeks to elucidate the role of neuropeptide signaling in mucosal healing following colitis. Jill’s goal is to become an independent investigator in the field of neurogastroenterology and altered gastrointestinal function during intestinal inflammation. Choosing intellectually generous mentors has been key to her success. —Nigel W. Bunnett, Editor in Chief, American Journal of Physiology, Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology
