چکیده
Introduction: Noncompaction cardiomyopathy (NccM) is a rare form of cardiomyopathy. the American Heart Association classified it as a genetic cardiomyopathy. the pathogenesis of this condition is attributed to the failure of trabecular myocardium to compact and underdeveloped microcoronary circulation. case report: We present a case of a 72-year-old African American female who presented with shortness of breath and leg swelling and was found to have severe systolic dysfunction. stress test showed ischemia. Left heart catheterization which included left ventriculogram showed prominent trabeculations suggestive of noncompaction cardiomyopathy. conclusion: this condition is often associated with other congenital cardiac defects and arrthymias. When it is present alone, it is called isolated noncompaction cardiomyopathy (INccM). the treatment protocol for this cardiomyopathy is the same as other cardiomyopathies, and includes the management of arrhythmias, heart failure and potential risk of embolism.

A Rare Case of Renal Infarct due to Noncompaction Cardiomyopathy: A Case Report and Literature Review
Left ventricular noncompaction cardiomyopathy is a rare myocardial disorder which results from failure of left ventricle to compact in embryogenesis. We present a case of a 53-year-old female who came because of abdominal pain and was found to have renal infarct secondary to noncompaction cardiomyopathy.
متن کاملIschemic Stroke in a Young Patient Heralding a Left Ventricular Noncompaction Cardiomyopathy
Strokes in young patients may be the clinical expression of many complex and extremely rare diseases. Uncommon causes constitute less than 5% of all strokes, but are present in 30% of strokes in young patients. We report the case of a young woman whose ischemic stroke led to the diagnosis of a rare embolic cardiomyopathy, left ventricular noncompaction cardiomyopathy, requiring a heart transplant.
متن کاملA Case of Fetal Diagnosis of Noncompaction Cardiomyopathy and Coarctation of the Aorta
Background Left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC) cardiomyopathy is a rare form of cardiomyopathy. It is difficult to diagnose prenatally and therefore not well described in the fetal population. There have been a few reports in the literature detailing isolated cases of fetal and neonatal LVNC cardiomyopathy. Case Report We present a case of LVNC cardiomyopathy and coarctation of the aorta dete...
متن کاملA very rare case of coexistence of ventricular noncompaction cardiomyopathy, myocardial bridging and atherosclerosis
Noncompaction of the ventricular myocardium is a rare congenital heart disease, presumably caused by the intrauterine arrest of the myocardial compaction process at the beginning of fetal development. It could remain asymptomatic or manifest with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and systemic thromboemboli. Here we report a 55-year-old man who was admitted to hospital with chest pain and d...

Left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC) is a rare form of cardiomyopathy of emerging importance. We report a case of a 3-months-old boy who presented with congestive heart failure due to LVNC.
