The Nature of Immune Complexes in Human Cancer Sera 1
نویسندگان
چکیده
Sera from 517 patients with various types of malignancies were assayed for immune complexes (ICs) by the Raji cell radioimmune assay. The incidence of immune complexes in these patients ranged from 16 to 52% as compared to 19% in normal controls. Increases in tumor mass and metastatic disease were associated with high levels of circulating ICs. Immunization of melanoma patients with BCG and tumorcell vaccine produced an increase in levels of ICs. Cancer sera contained complexes of intermediate size. Tumor antigens and IgG, presumably in the form of complexes, were identified by immunofluorescence and radiolabeled antibody techniques on the surface of Raji cells incubated in ICs-containing cancer sera.

Vanadium Complexes with Maltol and Deferiprone Ligands: Synthesis, Characterization and In vitro Antiproliferative Activity toward Different Cancer Cells
In a systematic effort to identify a potent antiproliferative agent, four complexes of vanadium containing maltol and deferiprone ligands were synthesized and evaluated for their cytotoxic activity against five human and animal cancer cell lines, including human breast cancer cells (MCF-7), human cervix epithelial carcinoma (HeLa), human colon cancer cell line (HT-29), human leukemia cell line ...
متن کاملImproved detection of the early stages of colon cancer by determining both free circulating and immune complex-bound antigens reactive with monoclonal antibody.
The measurement of both immune complex-bound and free unbound tumor-associated antigen was evaluated independently on a panel of sera from colon cancer patients by radioimmunoassay (RIA). A monoclonal antibody (mAb 46.3) raised against secreted antigens from human colon cancer cells in vitro was utilized in the RIA. When circulating immune complexes alone were analyzed, the data demonstrated th...
متن کاملPotentiation of human papilloma vaccine candidate using naloxone/alum mixture as an adjuvant: increasing immunogenicity of HPV-16E7d vaccine
Objective(s): Many types of human papillomaviruses (HPVs) have been identified, with some leading to cancer and others to skin lesions such as anogenital warts. Studies have demonstrated an association between oncogenic HPV and cervical cancer and many researchers have focused on therapeutic vaccines development. At present, the modulatory effect of opioids on the innate and acquired immune sys...

Background: Tumor cells express antigens that can be recognized by immune system as foreign particles. Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are molecular chaperones that bind to tumor antigens and mediate their uptake into antigen presenting cells. Methods: This articles is a review article and its data has been collected and categorized from the articles in the field of cancer immunotherapy. All the ar...
متن کاملQuantification Analysis of Dot Blot Assays for Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 and 2 Antibodies
Objective Dot Blot (DB) assay provides highly specific results, but usually not reliable for quantification of antibody production. The need for a more objective DB assay to provide a better definition of the immune status, against HIV antigens, promoted this study to be done to develop a quantitative DB assay. Material and Methods Dot blot (DB) strips for antibodies directed to human immuno...
