چکیده

The manner in which children learn to express and regulate their emotions is considered to occur within a social context, and the influence of parents in this process is especially significant (for review see Eisenberg, Cumberland, Spinard, 1998). Of particular concern is the mother's role in socializing emotions, as she is commonly considered to be a key contributor to development and socialization of emotion in early childhood, particularly adaptive abilities to regulate one's emotions and behavior, has been linked to many child outcomes, including social characteristics and behaviors that differentially influence children's emotional development are generally considered independently, and the interconnected nature of these influences is not fully understood. With the aim of better understanding the variability and complexities of the maternal role in the emotional development of children, the current study proposes to investigate differing maternal profiles in relation to child emotion regulation and problem behaviors. Emotional Development Children develop adaptive emotion regulatory skills through the socialization they receive from their parents.
