چکیده

We demonstrate the use of pulse-front tilt (PFT) in cross-correlation frequency-resolved optical gating (XFROG) implemented in polarization-gate geometry to measure arbitrary complex ultrashort pulses tens of picoseconds long on a single-camera frame with the potential for a single-shot measurement. The PFT is generated by a diffraction grating. We measured chirped double pulses separated by 4.7 and 24 ps with fine details and accurately retrieved them using the standard XFROG retrieval algorithm. The temporal range of our device is 28 ps, an order of magnitude longer than available from standard single-shot FROG devices without PFT. © 2013 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (320.0320) Ultrafast optics; (320.7100) Ultrafast measurements. http://dx.doi.org/10.1364/JOSAB.30.002781

Self-referenced measurement of the complete electric field of ultrashort pulses.

A self-referenced technique based on digital holography and frequency-resolved optical gating is proposed in order to characterize the complete complex electric field E (x, y, z, t) of a train of ultrashort laser pulses. We apply this technique to pulses generated by a mode-locked Ti:Sapphire oscillator and demonstrate that our device reveals and measures common linear spatio-temporal couplings...

Measurement of the intensity and phase of attojoule femtosecond light pulses using Optical-Parametric-Amplification Cross-Correlation Frequency-Resolved Optical Gating.

We use the combination of ultrafast gating and high parametric gain available with Difference-Frequency Generation (DFG) and Optical Parametric Amplification (OPA) to achieve the complete measurement of ultraweak ultrashort light pulses. Specifically, spectrally resolving such an amplified gated pulse vs. relative delay yields the complete pulse intensity and phase vs. time. This technique is a...

Cross-Correlation Frequency-Resolved Optical Gating for Test-Pulse Characterization Using a Self-Diffraction Signal of a Reference Pulse

A diagnostic system using three frequency-resolved optical gating (FROG) techniques—crosscorrelation, second harmonic generation, and self-diffraction—is reported for the reliable characterization of femtosecond laser pulses. The latter two FROG techniques are employed to evaluate suitability in measurements of the reference pulse. A train of optical pulses generated by the superposition of two...

Single-frame measurement of the complete spatiotemporal intensity and phase of ultrashort laser pulses using wavelength-multiplexed digital holography

We show that a simple (few-element) arrangement for wavelength-multiplexed digital holography allows the measurement of the electric field E x ,y , t of a femtosecond laser pulse on a single shot. A slightly rotated twodimensional diffractive optical element and a variable-wavelength filter together generate multiple spectrally resolved digital holograms that are simultaneously captured in a si...

Simultaneously measuring two ultrashort laser pulses on a single-shot using double-blind frequency-resolved optical gating

We demonstrate a simple self-referenced single-shot method for simultaneously measuring two different arbitrary pulses, which can potentially be complex and also have very different wavelengths. The method is a variation of cross-correlation frequency-resolved optical gating (XFROG) that we call double-blind (DB) FROG. It involves measuring two spectrograms, both of which are obtained simultane...
