Constrained Contouring in the Polar Coordinates

چکیده
A constrained contour is an outline of a region of interest, obtained by linking edges under the constraints of connectivity, smoothness, image context and subjective or user speciied constraints. We discuss a constrained contouring algorithm in polar coordinates to trace closed contours. The algorithm nds optimal contour locations in all radial direction according to the constraints of context, distance from approximate contour and the image gradient. These optimal edge-points ordered according to their angular coordinates. We treat these edge points as the nodes of a graph of all possible contours. The links of the graph are weighted so that the shortest path between a pair of nodes is the smooth contour that traces maximum number of edge-points, and the shortest cycle in the graph gives the optimal contour.

GENERAL SOLUTION OF ELASTICITY PROBLEMS IN TWO DIMENSIONAL POLAR COORDINATES USING MELLIN TRANSFORM
Abstract In this work, the Mellin transform method was used to obtain solutions for the stress field components in two dimensional (2D) elasticity problems in terms of plane polar coordinates. the Mellin transformation was applied to the biharmonic stress compatibility equation expressed in terms of the Airy stress potential function, and the boundary value problem transformed to an algebraic ...
متن کاملMechanical behaviour of motion for the two-dimensional monolayer system
In this paper we study the dynamics of the 2D-motion of a particle of monolayer. First we consider the usual physical time component and the plan manifold R2, having the polar coordinates. Then a geometric approach to nonholonomic constrained mechanical systems is applied to a problem from the two dimensional geometric dynamics of the Langmuir-Blodgett monolayer. We consider a constraint sub...
متن کاملElzaki transform method for finding solutions to two-dimensional elasticity problems in polar coordinates formulated using Airy stress functions
In this paper, the Elzaki transform method is used for solving two-dimensional (2D) elasticity problems in plane polar coordinates. Airy stress function was used to express the stress compatibility equation as a biharmonic equation. Elzaki transform was applied with respect to the radial coordinate to a modified form of the stress compatibility equation, and the biharmonic equation simplified t...
متن کاملBound States in Curved Quantum Layers
We consider a nonrelativistic quantum particle constrained to a curved layer of constant width built over a non-compact surface embedded in R. We suppose that the latter is endowed with the geodesic polar coordinates and that the layer has the hard-wall boundary. Under the assumption that the surface curvatures vanish at infinity we find sufficient conditions which guarantee the existence of ge...
متن کاملFree and constrained equilibrium states in a variational problem on a surface
We study the equilibrium states for an energy functional with a parametric force field on a region of a surface. Consideration of free equilibrium states is based on Lyusternik - Schnirelman's and Skrypnik's variational methods. Consideration of equilibrium states under a constraint of geometrical character is based on an analog of Skrypnik's method, described in [P. Vyridis, {it Bifurcation in...
