چکیده

Sir, Terbinafine is the most common antimycotic agent that can result in acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP). The clinical features, laboratory findings and histopathology of AGEP are now well described. How ever the optimum management of this condition has not been agreed. We read with interest the recent case described by Beltraminelli et al. (1) and would like to report a further case of terbinafineinduced AGEP, where oral corticosteroids were not useful.

Terbinafine-induced acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis.

Terbinafine is an allylamine antifungal agent, effective in the treatment of dermatomycoses. Many cutaneous adverse reactions have been reported (in about 3% of treated patients). Furthermore terbinafine has been associated with pustular eruptions, as well as the induction and exacerbation of pre-existing psoriasis and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP). AGEP is an uncommon asept...

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis induced by paroxetine in an adolescent girl.

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a rare severe cutaneous reaction pattern, which, in the majority of cases, occurs in adults (males and females are equally affected). AGEP has rarely been described in the paediatric population (1, 2). Viral illnesses, vaccinations (e.g. anti-pneumococcal vaccine) and drugs (up to 90% of cases) have been implicated in the pathogenesis of AGEP...

Terbinafine-induced subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus in two patients with systemic lupus erythematosus successfully treated with topical corticosteroids

So far in the literature there have been reported only 5 patients with a recognized and well-documented history of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who developed SCLE after terbinafine introduction. Here we report two women suffering from SLE who developed SCLE after initiation of oral terbinafine for onychomycosis. Skin lesions in both of them were extensive, located on the trunk, and upper ...

After discontinuation of terbinafine and initiating topical corticosteroid and calcipotriol combination with narrow band ultraviolet B therapy, patient's con...
