The strong nilpotency index of a matrix

It is known that strongly nilpotent matrices over a division ring are linearly triangularizable. We describe the structure of such matrices in terms of the strong nilpotency index. We apply our results on quasi-translation x+H such that JH has strong nilpotency index two.

Invertible and Nilpotent Matrices over Antirings

Abstract. In this paper we characterize invertible matrices over an arbitrary commutative antiring S with 1 and find the structure of GLn(S). We find the number of nilpotent matrices over an entire commutative finite antiring. We prove that every nilpotent n×n matrix over an entire antiring can be written as a sum of ⌈log2 n⌉ square-zero matrices and also find the necessary number of square-zer...

The Degrees of Nilpotency of Nilpotent Derivations on the Ring of Matrices

We consider Mn(R), the ring of n by n matrices on the real numbers where n ≥ 2. We find all of the natural numbers that are the degree of nilpotency of some nilpotent derivations on Mn(R). Mathematics Subject Classification: 16S50, 13N15, 16N40

On rational groups with Sylow 2-subgroups of nilpotency class at most 2

A finite group $G$ is called rational if all its irreducible complex characters are rational valued. In this paper we discuss about rational groups with Sylow 2-subgroups of nilpotency class at most 2 by imposing the solvability and nonsolvability assumption on $G$ and also via nilpotency and nonnilpotency assumption of $G$.

On nest modules of matrices over division rings

Let $ m , n in mathbb{N}$, $D$ be a division ring, and $M_{m times n}(D)$ denote the bimodule of all $m times n$ matrices with entries from $D$. First, we characterize one-sided submodules of $M_{m times n}(D)$ in terms of left row reduced echelon or right column reduced echelon matrices with entries from $D$. Next, we introduce the notion of a nest module of matrices with entries from $D$. We ...
