A generalization of line graphs via link scheduling in wireless networks

چکیده
In single channel wireless networks, concurrent transmission at different links may interfere with each other. To improve system throughput, a scheduling algorithm is necessary to choose a subset of links at each time slot for data transmission. Throughput optimal link scheduling discipline in such a wireless network is generally an NPhard problem. In this paper, we develop a polynomial time algorithm for link scheduling problem provided that network conflict graph is line multigraph. (i.e., line graph for which its root graph is multigraph). This result can be a guideline for network designers to plan the topology of a stationary wireless network such that the required conditions hold and then the throughout optimal algorithm can be run in a much less time.

Network throughput and energy conservation are two conflicting important performance metrics for wireless sensor networks. Since these two objectives are in conflict with each other, it is difficult to achieve them simultaneously. In this paper, a joint duty cycle scheduling and energy aware routing approach is proposed based on evolutionary game theory which is called DREG. Making a trade-off ...

The rapid advancement in wireless over wired has augmented the need for improving theQuality of Service (QoS) over such wireless links. However, the wireless ad hoc networkshave too low bandwidth, and establishing a QoS in these networks is a difficult issue. So,support of quality of service in ad hoc networks is the topical issue among the networkscience researchers. In this research we are go...

We consider point to point link scheduling in Spatial Time Division Multiple Access (STDMA) wireless networks under the physical interference model. We propose a novel link scheduling algorithm based on a line graph representation of the network, by embedding the interferences between pairs of nodes into the edge weights of the line graph. Our algorithm achieves lower schedule length and lower ...

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a specific category of wireless ad-hoc networks where their performance is highly affected by application, life time, storage capacity, processing power, topology changes, the communication medium and bandwidth. These limitations necessitate an effective data transport control in WSNs considering quality of service, energy efficiency, and congestion control. ...
