Computer Teammates: Should They Read Your Mind?
نویسنده
چکیده
The present paper describes recent work with a type of automation that is adaptive in nature. In systems that use adaptive automation, the level of automation, the number of automated systems, or the format of the interface can be modified in real time. Often, these systems behave like computer teammates. Attention is focused on two types of adaptive automation: 1) behavior-based and 2) a brainbased systems. Recent research on these systems i s described and the findings are discussed with respect to performance and user acceptance.

Example 4.1 (Psichokinesis). Imagine controlling things with your mind. For example, skipping a song by just thinking about it. One way to do this is by putting D sensors in your head (in your headphones, for example). These sensors would record small voltages generated by your brain, store them in a vector x ∈ R, and send them to a machine (phone, computer, server, etc.). The machine should in...

متن کاملWould a Digital Brain Have a Mind?
C ertain recent events caused me to doubt whether I know my own mind or not. Let me explain. Last week, the first of our academic year, all first-year students in our degree program underwent a supervised test in which they pull an old computer to pieces and put it back together again. We give this test to put a healthy disrespect for digital cir-cuitry—which is, at heart, only carefully pollut...

My research focuses on investigating how robots and other agents should learn and cooperate in order to tackle realworld problems. Agents are entities that repeatedly interact with their environment in order to accomplish their goals. In order for robots and other agents to handle many real-world problems, they must be able to cooperate with other agents and humans. However, they may not always...
