Metabolic regulation of genome stability

چکیده
Measuring the impact of the media The active participation of the people is one of the central components of a functioning democracy. King et al. performed a real-world randomized experiment in the United States to understand the causal effect of news stories on increasing public discussion of a specific topic (see the Policy Forum by Gentzkow). Social media posts increased by almost 20% the first day after the publication of news stories on a wide range of topics. Furthermore, the posts were relatively evenly distributed across political affiliation, gender, and region of the United States. —GJC Science, this issue p. 776; see also p. 726

Genome-Scale Metabolic Network Models of Bacillus Species Suggest that Model Improvement is Necessary for Biotechnological Applications
Background: A genome-scale metabolic network model (GEM) is a mathematical representation of an organism’s metabolism. Today, GEMs are popular tools for computationally simulating the biotechnological processes and for predicting biochemical properties of (engineered) strains. Objectives: In the present study, we have evaluated the predictive power of two ...
متن کاملInvestigation on metabolism of cisplatin resistant ovarian cancer using a genome scale metabolic model and microarray data
Objective(s): Many cancer cells show significant resistance to drugs that kill drug sensitive cancer cells and non-tumor cells and such resistance might be a consequence of the difference in metabolism. Therefore, studying the metabolism of drug resistant cancer cells and comparison with drug sensitive and normal cell lines is the objective of this research. Material and Methods:Metabolism of c...
متن کاملThe Csr system regulates genome-wide mRNA stability and transcription and thus gene expression in Escherichia coli.
Bacterial adaptation requires large-scale regulation of gene expression. We have performed a genome-wide analysis of the Csr system, which regulates many important cellular functions. The Csr system is involved in post-transcriptional regulation, but a role in transcriptional regulation has also been suggested. Two proteins, an RNA-binding protein CsrA and an atypical signaling protein CsrD, pa...
متن کاملIn Silico Genome-Wide Screening for TnrA-Regulated Genes of Bacillus clausii
Bacillus clausii TnrA transcription factor is required for global nitrogen regulation. In order to obtain anoverview of gene regulation by TnrA in B. clausii KSMK16, the entire genome of B. clausii was screened forthe consensus sequence, 5’-TGTNAN7TNACA-3’ known as the TnrA box, and 13 transcription units werefound containing a putative TnrA box. The TnrA targets identified in...
متن کاملRegulation of metabolic gene clusters in Arabidopsis thaliana
Recent discoveries have revealed that the genes for the biosynthesis of a variety of plant specialized metabolites are organized in operon-like clusters within plant genomes. Here we identify a regulatory process that is required for normal expression of metabolic gene clusters in Arabidopsis thaliana. Comparative gene expression analysis of a representative clustered gene was performed in a se...
متن کاملLongevity, genes, and aging: a view provided by a genetic model system.
The genetic analysis of aging in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae has revealed the importance of metabolic capacity, resistance to stress, integrity of gene regulation, and genetic stability for longevity. A balance between these life maintenance processes is sustained by the RAS2 gene, which channels cellular resources among them. This gene cooperates with mitochondria and PHB1 in metabolic ...
