Genetic divergence in soybean parents for backcrossing programs

چکیده
To evaluate superior hybrid combinations, biometric techniques based on the quantification of heterosis as in the diallel analyses and predictive procedures are commonly being used. Diallel analyses have the disadvantage of requiring the evaluation of each parent in all possible combinations, which may be impossible in the case of studies involving many parents. The predictive methods which dispense with the previous establishment of the hybrid combinations have attracted interest. These methods base upon the morphological, physiological and

Evaluation of genetic diversity among soybean (Glycine max) genotypes using univariate and multivariate analysis.
The genetic diversity study has paramount importance in breeding programs; hence, it allows selection and choice of the parental genetic divergence, which have the agronomic traits desired by the breeder. This study aimed to characterize the genetic divergence between 24 soybean genotypes through their agronomic traits, using multivariate clustering methods to select the potential genitors for ...

Background The success of a breeding program depends on the existence of genetic variability [1]. Therefore, breeders have recommended to the formation of the population-based study, the interbreeding between superior cultivars and divergent, resulting in hybrid combinations of higher heterotic effect, so that in segregating generations it has a greater chance of obtaining transgressive genotyp...

Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: Soybean is one of important oil seed crops through the world due to its high protein and oil contents. In order to evaluation the genetic diversity of this plant concerning to its compatibility to different climate conditions, the divergenet population in order to perform breeding programs is of great importance following by introduction of new cul...
متن کاملSelection theory for marker-assisted backcrossing.
Marker-assisted backcrossing is routinely applied in breeding programs for gene introgression. While selection theory is the most important tool for the design of breeding programs for improvement of quantitative characters, no general selection theory is available for marker-assisted backcrossing. In this treatise, we develop a theory for marker-assisted selection for the proportion of the gen...
متن کاملHeterosis and Combining Ability Estimates in Isoflavone Content Using Different Parental Soybean Accessions: Wild Soybean, a Valuable Germplasm for Soybean Breeding
Isoflavone, a group of secondary metabolites in soybean, is beneficial to human health. Improving isoflavone content in soybean seeds has become one of the most important breeding objectives. However, the narrow genetic base of soybean cultivars hampered crop improvement. Wild soybean is an extraordinarily important gene pool for soybean breeding. In order to select an optimal germplasm for bre...
