چکیده

The partitioning of two proteins, bovine serum albumin (BSA) and trypsin was studied in an aqueous poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)Cashew-nut tree gum system. The phase diagram was provided for Cashew-nut tree gum and PEG molecular weight of 1500 at two different temperatures. The influence of several parameters including concentrations of polymers, pH, salt addition and temperature on the partitioning of these proteins were investigated.. The results of this research demonstrated the importance of the protein characteristics for partitioning in aqueous biphasic system.

Cell membrane abnormality detected in erythrocytes from patients with multiple sclerosis by partition in two-polymer aqueous-phase systems.

Erythrocytes from multiple sclerosis patients differ significantly (p less than 0.005) from those from controls with regard to hydrophobic affinity partition in two-polymer aqueous-phase systems containing dextran, poly(ethylene glycol) and poly (ethylene glycol)-fatty acid esters. The most likely source of the abnormality is the cell membrane.

Development and Application of Aqueous Two-Phase Partition for the Recovery and Separation of Recombinant Phenylalanine Dehydrogenase

Aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS) have  emerged as a powerful extraction method for the downstream processing of bio-molecules. The aim of this work was to investigate the possibility of utilizing ATPS for the separation of recombinant Bacillus sphaericus phenylalanine dehydrogenase (PheDH). Polyethylene glycol (PEG) and ammonium sulfate systems were selected for our experi...

Analysis of partitioning of organic compounds and proteins in aqueous polyethylene glycol-sodium sulfate aqueous two-phase systems in terms of solute-solvent interactions.

Partition behavior of nine small organic compounds and six proteins was examined in poly(ethylene glycol)-8000-sodium sulfate aqueous two-phase systems containing 0.5M osmolyte (sorbitol, sucrose, trehalose, TMAO) and poly(ethylene glycol)-10000-sodium sulfate system, all in 0.01M sodium phosphate buffer, pH 6.8. The differences between the solvent properties of the coexisting phases (solvent d...

Aqueous two-phase poly (ethylene glycol) – Maltodextrin system for protein partitioning from shrimp waste: Influence of molecular weight and pH

The polysaccharide maltodextrin (Mdx) can provide a low cost alternative to substitute the fractioned dextran for the use with polyethylene glycol (PEG) in aqueous two-phase polymer polymers systems. Aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) partitioning has been used to recover and concentrate proteins from Shrimp Waste and offers many advantages along with biomass removal. In this work we have studied ...
