چکیده

Dielectric spectroscopy studies of aqueous ionic solutions ACl/H, 0 (A = Li, Rb, Cs) were carried out at frequencies between 45 MHz and 20 GHz, using recently developed coaxial measurement techniques. The behavior of the static dielectric constant es0 and the dielectric relaxation time Q-, of the solutions were studied as functions of ion size and concentration. For moderate concentrations both es0 and r, decrease linearly with solution conductivity. While the behavior of gso can be understood in terms of either static or Hubbard-Onsager kinetic polarization models, the experimental results for 7. are at present not understood quantitatively in terms of these models. However we point out the good correlation of the 7. data with empirical viscosity results, which suggests an alternative explanation based upon the solution viscosity, modified by ion size effects, which play an important role in the dielectric response. We also discuss the various length scales relevant to dielectric and conductivity processes in the solutions.

The Role of Dielectric Constant in Fractional Separation of Alkali Metals Salts from Aqueous Solutions

123704-8989-IJBAS-IJENS © August 2012 IJENS I J E N S Abstract-The effect of dielectric constant (ε) on the precipitation of Lithium, Sodium and Potassium chlorides has been investigated. At ε≈35 , 100%KCl, 58% NaCl , and 0.0%LiCl is separated from an aqueous solution mixture . Repeated procedures at selected dielectric constants achieved complete fractional separation of the three salts. Resul...

The influence of charged-induced variations in the local permittivity on the static and dynamic properties of polyelectrolyte solutions.

There is a large body of literature investigating the static and dynamic properties of polyelectrolytes due both to their widespread application in industrial processes and their ubiquitous presence in biology. Because of their highly charged nature, polyelectrolytes tend to alter the local dielectric permittivity of the solution within a few nanometers of their backbone. This effect has, howev...

Mechanical Properties Analysis of Bilayer Euler-Bernoulli Beams Based on Elasticity Theory

This paper analyzes the effects of structures and loads on the static bending and free vibration problems of bilayer beams. Based on static mechanical equilibrium and energy equilibrium, the static and dynamic governing equations of bilayer beam are established. It is found that the value of the thickness ratio has a significant effect on the static and dynamic responses of the beam, and the st...
