Serum Bactericidal Resistance in Uropathogenic E.coli

چکیده
Urinary tract infections(UTIs) are among the most common bacterial infections encountered in clinical practice (Ejrnaes, 2011)) E.coli causes about 80%of acute UTIs(Mitsumori,1998).E.coli is the most prevalent facultative gram negative bacilli in the human fecal flora, usually inhabits the colon as an innocuous commensal (Johnson, 1991). E.coli strains causing disease outside the gastrointestinal tract have been named extra intestinal pathogenic E.coli (ExPEC). Among ExPEC, UPEC is the most common pathogen in humans (Giray et al,2012).

Determination of the Frequency of Adhesion Virulence Factors in Uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) Strains Isolated from Hospitalized Patients in Babol
Background and Aims: Uropathogenic E.coli is one of the most known causes of urinary tract infections, which may lead to a high rate of morbidity and mortality in high risk patients. In this regard, the virulence factors such as bacterial adhesion molecules have a critical role. The current study was intended to determine the molecular properties of adhesion genes in Uropathogenic E.coli strain...
متن کاملFluoroquinolone resistance among CTX-M producing uropathogenic Escherichia coli from HIV and non-HIV patients in South India
Background Extended spectrum b-lactamase (ESBL) especially, the CTX-M producing Escherichia coli has emerged world wide as the leading cause of community onset UTI in the era of antibiotic resistance. The CTX-M producers often exhibit co-resistance towards fluoroquinolones and are a growing challenge to patient care. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of fluoroquinolone re...
متن کاملAnalytical profiling of mutations in quinolone resistance determining region of gyrA gene among UPEC
Mutations in gyrA are the primary cause of quinolone resistance encountered in gram-negative clinical isolates. The prospect of this work was to analyze the role of gyrA mutations in eliciting high quinolone resistance in uropathogenic E.coli (UPEC) through molecular docking studies. Quinolone susceptibility testing of 18 E.coli strains isolated from UTI patients revealed unusually high resista...
متن کاملPrevalence of aac(3)-IIa, aph(3)-Ia and ant(2)- Ia Genes among Uropathogenic Escherichia Coli Isolates
Abstract Background and Objective: Escherichia coli, one of the most common causative agents of urinary tract infections (UTIs) acquired from community and hospital, has developed multiple resistances to various antibiotics such as aminoglycosides. The main resistance mechanism to aminoglycosides is inactivation of these drugs by a variety of acetyltransferase, nucleotidyltransferase, and phosp...
متن کاملAntimicrobial Susceptibility Pattern of Uropathogenic Escherichia Coli in a Tertiary Care Centre at Kanchepuram District Anandhi Lakshmanan*, Kanaka P and Radha Madhavan
Escherichia Coli is the commonest cause of urinary tract infection (UTI) both in the community and hospital settings. Females experience recurrent UTI in the reproductive age group while men in the older age .Drug resistance among E.coli strains has now become a major concern as clinicians are left with very minimal therapeutic options. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:To isolate and identify the commonest ...
