چکیده

We show how to do efficient moment based inference using the generalized method of moments (GMM) when data is collected by standard stratified sampling and the maintained assumption is that the aggregate shares are known.

Inference on Pr(X > Y ) Based on Record Values From the Power Hazard Rate Distribution

In this article, we consider the problem of estimating the stress-strength reliability $Pr (X > Y)$ based on upper record values when $X$ and $Y$ are two independent but not identically distributed random variables from the power hazard rate distribution with common scale parameter $k$. When the parameter $k$ is known, the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE), the approximate Bayes estimator and ...

GMM-based inference in the AR(1) panel data model for parameter values where local identication fails

We are interested in making inference on the AR parameter in an AR(1) panel data model when the time-series dimension is …xed and the cross-section dimension is large. We consider a GMM estimator based on the second order moments of the observed variables. It turns out that when the AR parameter equals unity and certain restrictions apply to the other parameters in the model then local identi…c...

Valid Inference in Partially Unstable GMM Models∗

The paper considers estimation and inference of time series GMM models where a subset of parameters are time varying. The magnitude of the time variation in the unstable parameters is such that efficient tests detect the instability with (possibly high) probability smaller than one, even in the limit. We show that for many forms of parameter instability and for a large class of GMM models, stan...

Demand Estimation with High-dimensional Product Characteristics

Structural models of demand founded on the classic work of Berry, Levinsohn, and Pakes (1995) link variation in aggregate market shares for a product to the influence of product attributes on heterogeneous consumer tastes. We consider implementing these models in settings with complicated products where consumer preferences for product attributes are sparse, that is, where a small proportion of...

Inference for the Proportional Hazards Family under Progressive Type-II Censoring

In this paper, the well-known proportional hazards model which includes several well-known lifetime distributions such as exponential,Pareto, Lomax, Burr type XII, and so on is considered. With both Bayesian and non-Bayesian approaches , we consider the estimation of parameters of interest based on progressively Type-II right censored samples. The Bayes estimates are obtained based on symmetric...
