A goal programming model for production planning of perishable products with postponement

چکیده
One of the important characteristics of perishable products that a decision-maker has to take into account seriously is that the price will drop significantly after a day, or a season. Hence, over-production and storage of such products is not recommended. In this paper, the production process for perishable products is proposed to be divided into two phases by applying the concept of postponement. Consequently, three production activities – direct production, master production and final assembly – will be considered. A preemptive goal programming model to solve aggregate production planning for perishable products is developed, in which three objectives are optimized hierarchically. A set of Hong Kong data has been used to test the effectiveness and the efficiency of the proposed model. Results demonstrate that the decision-makers can find the flexibility and robustness of the proposed model by adjusting the goal priorities with respect to the importance of each objective and the aspiration level with respect to desired target values. 2007 Elsevier Ltd. A Two-Stage Production Planning Model for Perishable Products Under Uncertainty
This study addresses the production planning problem for perishable products, in which the cost and shortage of products are minimized subject to a set of constraints such as warehouse space, labor working time and machine time. Using the concept of postponement, the production process for perishable products is differentiated into two phases to better utilize the resources. A two-stage stochas...

This paper aims to investigate the integrated production/distribution and inventory planning for perishable products with fixed life time in the constant condition of storage throughout a two-echelon supply chain by integrating producers and distributors. This problem arises from real environment in which multi-plant with multi-function lines produce multi-perishable products with fixed life ti...
متن کاملAdaptive aggregate production planning with fuzzy goal programming approach
Aggregate production planning (APP) determines the optimal production plan for the medium term planning horizon. The purpose of the APP is effective utilization of existing capacities through facing the fluctuations in demand. Recently, fuzzy approaches have been applied for APP focusing on vague nature of cost parameters. Considering the importance of coping with customer demand in different p...

In this study, a two echelons supply chain system in which a supplier is producing perishable product and distribute it to multiple customers is considered. By allowing lateral transshipment mechanism, it is also possible to deliver products to some customers in some periods in bulk, then customers using their own vehicle to transship goods between each other seeking further reduction in the ov...

One of the important aspects of distribution optimization problems is simultaneously, controlling the inventory while devising the best vehicle routing, which is a famous problem, called inventory-routing problem (IRP). When the lot-sizing decisions are jointed with IRP, the problem will get more complicated called production inventory-routing problem (PIRP). To become closer to the real life p...
