چکیده

Lin, Ching-Yang, and Miyamoto, Hiroaki—An estimated search and matching model of the Japanese labor market This paper studies how well a simple search and matching model can describe aggregate Japanese labor market dynamics in a full information setting. We develop a discrete-time search and matching model with a convex vacancy posting cost and three shocks: productivity, separation, and markup shocks. We use the model as a data-generating process for our empirical analysis and estimate it by using Bayesian methods. The model is successful in replicating the behavior of unemployment and vacancies in Japan. However, we also find that the success of the model relies on shock processes that are not empirically plausible. J. Japanese Int. Economies xxx (xx) (2014) xxx–xxx. Job Finding and Inflow to Unemployment : The Case of Iran

In order to analyze the labor market through search and matching theory, we need deep parameters namely, rate of inflow to the unemployment pool and job-finding rate. In other words, these rates are primary parameters of matching function; hence, estimating these parameters is an essential step for the use of search and matching theory in every economy. In this paper, we estimate these rates of...

Estimating a Search and Matching Model of the Aggregate Labor Market in Japan

Dynamic Labor Market in a Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Model: Case Study of Iranian Economy

The labor market, as one of the four markets, plays an important role in economic growth and development. So review developments in the labor market because of its close relationship with developments in other sectors is of great importance. This study tries to examine the dynamics of the labor market by adjusting for a New Keynesian dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model for the Iranian ...

Estimating a Search and Matching Model with Sticky Price and Staggered Wage Negotiation

This paper estimates a search and matching model of the aggregate labor market with sticky price and staggered wage negotiation. It starts with a partial equilibrium search and matching model and expands into a general equilibrium model with sticky price and staggered wage. I study the quantitative implications of the model. The results show that (1) the price stickiness and staggered wage are ...
