„Influence of the Nonuniform Sampling on the Dynamic Range of Delta Modulators”

The paper is based on the analytical considerations established by Abate [1] and Taub-Schilling [2] notions concerning minimization of total quantization noise and maximization of dynamic range DR of adaptive delta modulations (ADM). Both the analytical and simulation dependences of DR in the function of maximum sampling frequency fs max or maximum quantization step size ∆max have been found by the author. A notion of the conversion factor between DR and the ratio fs max/fs min (NSDM dynamic gain conversion) denoted Kf have been introduced and compared with CFDM dynamic gain conversion K∆. Results of simulation investigations with analytical considerations concerning the NSDM modulation are compared and presented in the paper.
