Josephson current in a finite-size junction interrupting a superconducting ring

چکیده
We study the behavior of the Josephson current IJ flowing in a finite-size Josephson junction in a superconducting ring in the presence of an externally applied magnetic field H, taking into account the effect of the shielding currents. The set of self-consistent equations for the system can be solved explicitly for IJ in the small self-inductance coefficient limit for not negligible effective junction areas. It is found that the resulting IJ versus H curve presents a Fraunhofer-like prefactor modulating a periodic quasisinusoidal odd function. @S0163-1829~99!10413-2#

Josephson Current For a Graphene Nanoribbon Using a Lattice Model
A tight binding approach based on the Bogoliubov-de Gennes approach has been used to calculate the DC Josephson current for a lattice model for S-GNR-S junctions , for short junctions with respect to superconducting coherence length. We calculate the phase, length, width and chemical potential dependence at the Josephson junction and discuss the similarities and differences with regard to the t...
متن کاملAnomalous finite-size effect in superconducting Josephson junction arrays.
We show that a previously reported discrepancy between simulations of superconducting Josephson junction arrays and the theoretical analysis of Ambegaokar, Halperin, Nelson, and Siggia (AHNS) [Phys. Rev. Lett. 40, 783 (1978)] is rooted in a peculiar finite-size effect under periodic boundary conditions. Our simulation results for the largest array support the power-law I-V curves predicted by A...

In this paper, the density of states (DOS) of a planar d-wave Josephson junction is studied analytically. Two high temperature superconductors are separated by an interface with finite transparency coefficient. The c-axes are parallel to the interface and ab-axes have a mis-orientation. The tunneling occurs via the interface because of phase difference between superconducting bulks. The effec...

The macroscopic quantum interference effects in ballistic Josephson microstructures are investigated. The studied system consists of four bulk superconductors (terminals) which are weakly coupled through the mesoscopic rectangular normal metal (two dimensional electron gas). We show that nonlocal electrodynamics of ballistic systems leads to specific current-phase relations for the mesoscopic m...
متن کاملSuperconducting pi qubit with a ferromagnetic Josephson junction.
Solid-state qubits have the potential for the large-scale integration and for the flexibility of layout for quantum computing. However, their short decoherence time due to the coupling to the environment remains an important problem to be overcome. We propose a new superconducting qubit which incorporates a spin-electronic device: the qubit consists of a superconducting ring with a ferromagneti...
