Ion-exchange chromatographic separation and fluorometric detection of urinary polyamines.

چکیده
An ion-exchange chromatographic procedure has been developed for the separation and fluorometric detection of the urinary polyamines 1,3-diaminopropane, putrescine, spermidine, cadaverine, and spermine. The polyamines were separated on a 15 x0.45 cm cation-exchange column (70”) employing a combined pH-salt gradient. The separation conditions were designed to enable utilization of the sensitive reagent fluorescamine as a means of monitoring these amines in physiologic fluids. This non-fluorescent reagent forms a fluorophor with most primary amines. Experiments were carried out to determine the effects of several variables such as pH, reagent concentration, and flow-rate. The method was successfully applied to both normal and pathologic samples of human urine.

Chromatographic behavior of open-chain polyamines NH2-(CH2)2-[NH-(CH2)2]n-NH2 and their quantitative determination in sea water by high-performance ion-exchange chromatography.
The results are reported of a study using high-performance liquid chromatography for the chromatographic behavior of a homologous series of open-chain polyamines having the general molecular formula NH2-(CH2)2-[NH-(CH2)2]n-NH2 (n = 0-4). The exchange column is a carboxylate-functionalized resin. Amines are eluted with mixtures of HClO4 0.200 mol/L, NaClO4 from 0.100 to 1.40 mol/L, and acetonitr...
متن کاملA new liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization mass spectrometry method for the analysis of underivatized aliphatic long-chain polyamines: application to diatom-rich sediments.
Natural polyamines are found in all three domains of life and long-chain polyamines (LCPAs) play a special role in silicifying organisms such as diatoms and sponges where they are actively involved in the complex formation and nanopatterning of siliceous structures. With chain lengths extending up to 20 N-methylated propylamine repeat units, diatom LCPAs constitute the longest natural polyamine...
متن کاملDevelopment of a new method based on chiral ligand-exchange chromatography for the enantioseparation of propranolol
A new chromatographic procedure was proposed for the separation of propranolol (PRN) enantiomers based upon enantioselective chiral ligand-exchange chromatography. The separation was carried out on a short C8 column leading to considerably short separation time. L-alanine and Cu2+ were applied as chiral selector and central bivalent complexing ion, respectively. It was found that the kind of co...

متن کاملIon Exchange Column Performance Model for Separation of Zr(IV) and Hf(IV) in Elution Process
A mathematical model of sorption of Zirconium and Hafnium cations mixture and elution of these ions from a cation exchange resin bed is developed. Sulfuric acid is selected as the eluent for selective separation of Zr and Hf in a packed bed of Dowex cation exchange resin. The column model is a dispersed plug flow model, and assumed to consist of randomly packed synthetic and spherical resin ...
