Overview on sex determination and Sexual ambiguity (part 1)
نویسنده
چکیده
Alfred Jost, the French Physiologist (1974) (1), in some magnificent experiments, showed that all castrated rabbit embryos, before sex differentiation, produced female offspring regardless of the chromosomal constitution (2). Male gonads and their essential hormones, i.e. anti-Mullerian factor to inhibit Mullerian development and testosterone to initiate the Wolfferian growth and convert the urogenital sinus to male external genitalia (3), are required to produce a male embryo. He also delineated that if a piece of the rabbit testis was transplanted to embryos with female chromosomal karyotypes whose gonads were to differentiate into ovaries, the differentiation process changed to produce the testes. He reached the conclusion that all embryos naturally produced female offspring regardless of the chromosomal constitution (2-3)

P-167: Overview on Sexual Health in Male Patients Undergoing Major Cardiac Surgery
Background: Sexual dysfunction is one of the most common problems in men after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). Etiology of sexual dysfunction in these patients may be psychological or organic due to hormonal changes. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the incidence and type of sexual dysfunction and changes in serum concentration of sex hormones in male patients undergoing on-pump C...

Inherited disorders of sexual development are important to identify as a cause of inherited infertility or sterility in humans and animals. Investigation of these disorders in dogs and cats can identify new mutations, allowing us to eliminate inherited disorders from breeding populations, while contributing to the understanding of mammalian sexual development and differentiation. This review up...
متن کاملSex Reversal in Birds.
Sexual differentiation in birds is controlled genetically as in mammals, although the sex chromosomes are different. Males have a ZZ sex chromosome constitution, while females are ZW. Gene(s) on the sex chromosomes must initiate gonadal sex differentiation during embryonic life, inducing paired testes in ZZ individuals and unilateral ovaries in ZW individuals. The traditional view of avian sexu...

Background: Spirituality forms major parts of human life. Sexual need is one of the natural instincts and it is in dimension of spiritual needs, and neglecting it causes family and social problems. Sexual education is weak in our country and must be conform to religious beliefs. Aim: Determining the effect of religious-based sex education on sexual function of married women Methods: This single...
متن کاملDisorders of Sexual Differentiation and Sex Development
The determination of a baby’s sex begins at the chromosomal level with the insemination of the ovum. Further sexual differentiation follows during the subsequent embryogenesis. However, chromosomal anomalies, gene mutations, and other exogenous or endogenous factors can cause disorders of sexual differentiation. These disorders manifest during childhood or at the latest in puberty, making patie...
