A Comparison of Modular Verification Techniques

چکیده
This paper presents and compares three techniques for mechanized ver-iication of state-oriented design descriptions. The goal of this work is to gain insight into quantitative aspects of diierent modular veriication techniques. One of the three veriication techniques presented here is a traditional forward generation of a xed point characterizing the reachable states. This does not utilize any modu-larity provided by the designer, and therefore it forms the basis for the comparison, whereas the two others do utilize such a modularity. One requires a substantial manual eeort by the designer, but is computationally very eecient, while the other requires almost no manual assistance with a much better performance than the simple forward generation. The performance of the three techniques is compared on a set of examples.

Verification of object-oriented programs relies on object invariants which express consistency criteria of objects. The semantics of object invariants is subtle, mainly because of call-backs, multiobject invariants, and subclassing. Several verification techniques for object invariants have been proposed. These techniques are complex and differ in restrictions on programs (e.g., which fields ca...
متن کاملModular approach for an ASIC integration of electrical drive controls
VLSI circuits design allows today to consider new modes of implementation for electrical controls. However, design techniques require an adaptation effort that few designers, too accustomed to the software approach, provide. The authors of this article propose to develop a methodology to guide the electrical designers towards optimal performances of control algorithms implementation. Thus, they...
متن کاملA Novel Hybrid-Excited Modular Variable Reluctance Motor for Electric Vehicle Applications: Analysis, Comparison, and Implementation
A variable reluctance machine (VRM) has been proven to be an outstanding candidate for electric vehicle (EV) applications. This paper introduces a new double-stator, 12/14/12-pole three-phase hybrid-excited modular variable reluctance machine (MVRM) for EV applications. In order to demonstrate the superiorities of the proposed structure, the static torque characteristics and dynamic performance...
متن کامل$C$-class functions on common fixed point theorems for weak contraction mapping of integral type in modular spaces
In this paper, we use the concept of $C$-class functions introduced by Ansari [4] to prove the existence and uniqueness of common fixed point for self-mappings in modular spaces of integral inequality. Our results extended and generalized previous known results in this direction.
متن کاملEFFICIENT SIMULATION FOR OPTIMIZATION OF TOPOLOGY, SHAPE AND SIZE OF MODULAR TRUSS STRUCTURES
The prevalent strategy in the topology optimization phase is to select a subset of members existing in an excessively connected truss, called Ground Structure, such that the overall weight or cost is minimized. Although finding a good topology significantly reduces the overall cost, excessive growth of the size of topology space combined with existence of varied types of design variables challe...
