چکیده

Monacrosporium ellipsosporiwn was frequently observed associated with Meloidogyne egg masses in some field soils and in potted cultures of the nematode. Six geographic isolates varied in their relative predacity toward larvae emerging from egg masses. An aggressive isolate, chosen for rapidity and abundance of trap formation in vitro, was tested in greenhouse and field tests for protection of tomato from M. incognita. A test of tomato in potted field soi1 inoculated at 1, 5 and 10 g fungal inoculum/l5 cm pot, 15 days before nematode inoculation, showed significant reduction,in plant damage at the 5 and 10 g levels, but none at the 1 g rate. Galling was reduced 42 Oo and 49 “0, respectively, in the 5 and 10 g fungal treatments. Larvae in the soi1 and females/plant were also similarly reduced, but were the same as controls at the 1 g rate. In a tïeld test using two levels of fungus on wheat grain substrate mixed into transplant holes for tomato seedlings, the improved plant growth and M. incognira reduction obtained at harvest were also in direct relationship to amounts of the fungus used, but the treatments did not differ statistically from the control.

Soil Texture Affects Meloidogyne incognita and Thielaviopsis basicola and Their Interaction on Cotton

The root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita, and the soilborne fungus Thielaviopsis basicola, the causal agent of black root-rot, are important plant pathogens of cotton in Arkansas. When M. incognita and T. basicola occur in the same field, greater damage may occur on cotton than when only one of the pathogens is present. Studying the relationship of soil factors on M. incognita Monfort et a...

Morphological variability and molecular phylogeny of the nematophagous fungus Monacrosporium drechsleri.

An isolate of the nematode-trapping fungus Monacrosporium drechsleri was collected from cultures of the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne arenaria that had been maintained on tomato roots in greenhouse pots in Beltsville, Maryland. The plant-parasitic nematodes Heterodera glycines, Meloidogyne incognita and Pratylenchus zeae and the free-living nematodes Caenorhabditis elegans and Panagrellus redi...

The Effects of Paecilomyces lilacinus on the Pathogenesis of Meloidogyne Javanica and Tomato Plant Growth Parameters

The present study is based on the investigation of a soil hyphomyces, Paecilomyces lilacinus, an opportunistic bio-control agent, in controlling root-knot nematode Meloidogyne javanica on tomato in greenhouse conditions. P. lilacinus, effectively promoted the growth of plants inoculated with M. javanica by suppressing its pathogenesis as root galling by the nematode and egg mass production was ...

Dynamics of Concomitant Populations of Pratylenchus Vulnus and Meloidogyne Incognita on Peach

Nyczepir, A. P. 2009. Dynamics of concomitant populations of Pratylenchus vulnus and Meloidogyne incognita on peach. Nematropica 39:273-279. The effect of the interaction between Meloidogyne incognita and Pratylenchus vulnus on nematode reproduction and vegetative growth of Lovell peach was studied in field microplots. Pratylenchus vulnus suppressed the population density of M. incognita second...

Effects of Soil Type on the Damage Potential of Meloidogyne incognita on Soybean.

Effects of soil type on the reproduction and damage potential of Meloidogyne incognita on soybean, Glycine max (L.) Merr., were determined at five locations in North Carolina, including one site where plots with six soil types were established. M. incognita reproduced readily on a susceptible soybean cultivar in most soil types, with somewhat limited reproduction in muck soils. The relationship...
