Dialogue-Based Design of Web Usability Questionnaires Using Ontologies

چکیده
Questionnaires are nowadays widely used usability evaluation instruments, and several generic usability questionnaires are available. But these generic artifacts are not always appropriate to evaluate a given setting, and constructing a questionnaire from scratch is a complex task requiring both expertise and resources, so that discount-usability approaches to questionnaire-based evaluation can make a good option in many cases. In this work, a novel knowledge-based approach to design Web usability questionnaires is described. The questionnaire model comprises different ontologies including concepts regarding questions and questionnaires, the different measures that can be obtained and the tasks that have to be carried out by users in order to evaluate a specific kind of Web application. As a proof of concept for the model, a prototype questionnaire design application is also described. The application demonstrates how facts can be gathered through a guided dialogue with the user, and how the system can use this information to tailor the resulting questionnaire to the concrete situation.

The use of Domain Ontologies for Improving the Adaptability and Collaborative Ability of a Web Dialogue System
In this paper we describe the use of domain ontologies in a mixed-initiative web dialogue system for improving both its adaptability and its collaborative ability. Dialogue systems guiding the user when accessing the web services can enhance web usability, however they are expensive to develop and difficult to adapt to different types of web services. The use of the web service knowledge model ...

Introduction: The importance of assessing and identifying ergonomic risk factors in the workplace among office workers has increased with the increase in occupational tasks of computer and increasing the risk of physical and mental disorders among its users. One of these factors is the usability of computer hardware and software. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the applicability of o...
متن کاملDesign Patterns for Semantic Web Ontologies: Motivation and Discussion
3. Reason–ability, i.e. usability for (ideally, non– trivial) inference by existing semantic web reasoners. The relatively high level of standardisation of semantic web ontology languages is in contrast to mostly ad hoc designed content of ontologies themselves. An overview of existing methods supporting ontology content creation is presented. Methods based on design patterns are then discussed...
متن کاملOntologies, Dialogue and Knowledge Maturing:Towards a Mashup and Design Study
This paper proposes an initial design study to examine and test some of the key concepts and issues within a large-scale European research project that is exploring and aiming to realise learning as a process of knowledge maturing in the workplace. It will outline some of these concepts, based on a contemporary (or Web 2.0 driven) articulation of how ontologies can be acquired, externalised and...
