All rights reserved. laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation with a tunnel underneath the broad ligament. Results: Surgery was performed successfully without conversion to open surgery. No major intraoperative or postoperative complications occurred. The mean postoperative follow-up was 38, 33 and 26 months respectively. The operative time was between 220 and 260 minutes. The Mean mean estimated blood loss was less than 20 mL. Subsequent imaging performed 3 months after surgery revealed relief of hydroureteronephrosis for all patients. Patients all gave birth to healthy neonates and showed normal urinary tract sonogram and urine analysis during gestation period. Conclusion: Laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation with a tunnel underneath the broad ligament tunnel is safe, effective, allowing for anatomical reconstruction of ureter defects, however. Aa larger clinical sample and longer follow-up period will be needed for fully validation of this technique.

Dorsal vein complex preserving technique for intrafascial nerve-sparing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy
OBJECTIVES To describe a novel dorsal vein complex preserving technique for intrafascial nerve-sparing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and to evaluate its postoperative outcomes. METHODS A total of 109 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical prostatectomy by a single surgeon were evaluated, including 44 patients with dorsal vein complex preserving technique for intrafascial nerve-spari...
متن کاملNerve-sparing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy at Siriraj Hospital.
BACKGROUND Quality of life after laparoscopic radical prostatectomy has been a discussed issue among patients. Nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy has been shown to be superior to non-nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy in terms of potency and continence. The authors have reported their experience of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and now developed our technique of nerve-sparing laparoscopi...
متن کاملCurrent status of laparoscopic and robot-assisted nerve-sparing radical cystectomy in male patients
During radical cystectomy (RC), the neurovascular bundles are easily removed or damaged, leading to varying rates of incontinence and erectile dysfunction. The nerve-sparing technique was developed to preserve urinary and erectile function. The adoption of laparoscopic and robot-assisted technology has improved visualization and dexterity of pelvic surgeries, thus facilitate the nerve-sparing t...
متن کاملA matched-pair comparison between bilateral intrafascial and interfascial nerve-sparing techniques in extraperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.
The aim of this study was to validate the advantages of the intrafascial nerve-sparing technique compared with the interfascial nerve-sparing technique in extraperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. From March 2010 to August 2011, 65 patients with localized prostate cancer (PCa) underwent bilateral intrafascial nerve-sparing extraperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. These pati...
متن کاملIntrafascial dissection significantly increases positive surgical margin and biochemical recurrence rates after robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy.
INTRODUCTION Improved visualization and magnification in robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALRP) has tempted many urologists to dissect the neurovascular bundle closer to the prostate following the layers of the pseudo-capsule of the prostate. This might bear a higher risk of decreased tumor control. MATERIALS AND METHODS An analysis of a consecutive series of 186 patients w...
