Low Energy Neutrino Cross Sections: Comparison of Various Monte Carlo Predictions to Experimental Data
نویسنده
چکیده
Charged current (CC) and neutral current (NC) low energy neutrino cross section predictions from a variety of Monte Carlo generators in present use are compared against existing experimental data. Comparisons are made to experimental data on quasi-elastic, resonant and coherent single pion production, multiple pion production, single kaon production, and total inclusive cross sections, and are restricted to the case of νμ scattering off free nucleons.

Neutrino physics with multi-ton scale liquid xenon detectors
We study the sensitivity of large-scale xenon detectors to low-energy solar neutrinos, to coherent neutrino-nucleus scattering and to neutrinoless double beta decay. As a concrete example, we consider the xenon part of the proposed DARWIN (Dark Matter WIMP Search with Noble Liquids) experiment. We perform detailed Monte Carlo simulations of the expected backgrounds, considering realistic energy...

We describe a new web based data resource being developed to provide access to accurate and validated cross sections of low energy neutrino and antineutrino interactions. The proposed content of this database are outlined which cover total and differential cross from inclusive, quasi-elastic and exclusive pion production processes from charged and neutral current interactions. Efforts to obtain...
متن کاملModelling Cc Neutrino Cross Sections in the Few Gev Energy Region *
The aim of this paper is to review some of recent developments in modelling the Charge Current (CC) neutrino interactions with both free nucleons and nuclei targets in the few GeV neutrino energy region [1]. This energy range is characteristic for atmospheric neutrinos and for several running or approved long-baseline experiments. The knowledge of the cross sections is necessary for future more...
متن کاملConstruction of spectral functions for medium nuclei
This paper is aimed at improving the description of lepton-nucleus interactions. Approximate spectral functions for oxygen, calcium, and argon are constructed and used to obtain the cross sections for scattering of electrons in a given angle. Comparison with a sample of available experimental data shows satisfactory agreement. Additionally, discrepancy between the presented model and a systemat...
متن کاملDifferential cross section measurements for the production of a W boson in association with jets in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV
Measurements are reported of differential cross sections for the production of a W boson, which decays into a muon and a neutrino, in association with jets, as a function of several variables, including the transverse momenta (pT) and pseudorapidities of the four leading jets, the scalar sum of jet transverse momenta (HT), and the difference in azimuthal angle between the directions of each jet...
