چکیده

Flat multiconductor cable of the type used for mass insulation displacement connection (i.d.c.) typically has a characteristic impedance (Z0) in the 90 to 150 Ω range. In some applications, it is desirable to have less than half this Z0. A properly configured four-conductor configuration allows us to achieve a low Z0. This technique is extendable to printed-wiring flexible-circuits (flex circuits) as well. The primary application for this four-conductor application is for differential low Z0 applications. Z0 measurements were made using both time-domain reflectometry (t.d.r.) methods and inductance-capacitance (LC) methods. Limitations of both measurement methods are briefly discussed. Lossless line equations are assumed. Flat multiconductor cable is frequently used in a ground-signal-ground-signal application. Measurements were made to determine the effects of different conductor placements. Power Cable Joint Model: Based on Lumped Components and Cascaded Transmission Line Approach

Abstract: Models in high frequency range for underground power cable connections are essential for the interpretation of partial discharge (PD) signals arising e.g. diagnostic techniques. This paper focuses on modeling of power cable joints. A lumped parameter odel and a cascaded transmission line model are proposed based on scattering parameters (S -parameters) measurement on a 10 kV oil-fille...

Study on Elastic Helical TDR Sensing Cable for Distributed Deformation Detection

In order to detect distributed ground surface deformation, an elastic helical structure Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) sensing cable is shown in this paper. This special sensing cable consists of three parts: a silicone rubber rope in the center; a couple of parallel wires coiling around the rope; a silicone rubber pipe covering the sensing cable. By analyzing the relationship between the impe...
