چکیده
The topics of this special issue are mainly devoted to the most recent research, development and applications in the field of wireless ad-hoc networks, multimedia networks, communication signal processing. Among all the submitted manuscripts, 15 papers were selected and included in this special. Creative thoughts and interesting inspirations will be presented, discussed and disseminated in this issue. There are five papers concerned with wireless ad-hoc networks. Y. Mao et al. proposed an effective data gathering scheme for heterogeneous energy wireless sensor networks; J. J. Gui et al. gave a mathematic approach to model the vulnerabilities from the Sybil attack for ad-hoc routing protocol. X. Yan et al. designed a new STAR MAC protocol to reduce the energy consumption in the traditional sensor network. H. Chen et al. proposed a novel trust routing scheme based on node behavior evaluation to enhance the security of the ad-hoc network. S. Shuo et al. in their paper proposed a weighted trilateral position algorithm to improve the position accuracy, and meanwhile, indoor field tests were also designed and carried out to verify their newly proposed algorithm. As to multimedia networks, three papers were selected in this issue. F. Wang et al. studied the problem of reliable multi-path routing with bandwidth and delay constraints. The authors first proposed a heuristic algorithm as the benchmark, and then presented a polynomial time approximation to obtain a (1 )-approximation solution. P. Zeng et al. proposed two different

Performance of the Wavelet Transform-Neural Network Based Receiver for DPIM in Diffuse Indoor Optical Wireless Links in Presence of Artificial Light Interference
Artificial neural network (ANN) has application in communication engineering in diverse areas such as channel equalization, channel modeling, error control code because of its capability of nonlinear processing, adaptability, and parallel processing. On the other hand, wavelet transform (WT) with both the time and the frequency resolution provides the exact representation of signal in both doma...
متن کاملGuest Editorial for the Special Issue On General Systems with Network-Enhanced Complexities
In recent years, the study of networked control systems (NCSs) has gradually become an active research area due to the advantages of using networked media in many aspects such as the ease of maintenance and installation, the large flexibility and the low cost. It is well known that the devices in networks are mutually connected via communication cables that are of limited capacity. Therefore, s...
متن کاملGuest Editorial Signal Processing For Wireless Communications - Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Journal on
PART I of this special issue on signal processing for wireless communications, published in October 1998, contained 21 papers on diversity and antenna arrays, blind techniques, and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-related techniques. In this issue, we present 22 papers on equalization and signal detection and multiuser detection and code division multiple access (CDMA)-related ...
متن کاملDesign of a novel congestion-aware communication mechanism for wireless NoC architecture in multicore systems
Hybrid Wireless Network-on-Chip (WNoC) architecture is emerged as a scalable communication structure to mitigate the deficits of traditional NOC architecture for the future Multi-core systems. The hybrid WNoC architecture provides energy efficient, high data rate and flexible communications for NoC architectures. In these architectures, each wireless router is shared by a set of processing core...

THE DEMAND for wireless access continues to increase rapidly in both military and civilian communities. The modern internet and modern personal-area devices have made billions of users around the world accustomed to data-hungry applications such as videos. This has an inevitable effect on the users’ desire for the same through wireless media. Because of the limited radio frequency spectrum, wir...
