Tong, Jinnan, and Douglas H. Erwin. Triassic Gastropods of the Southern Qinling Mountains, China. Smithsonian Contributions to Paleobiology, number 92,47 pages, 11 figures, 6 plates, 5 tables, 2001. Forty-eight species in 27 genera of gastropods, including 14 new species and one new genus, are described from earlyto middle-Triassic (Scythianto Ladinian-aged) rocks from the southern Qinling Mountains of Gansu and Sichuan provinces, China. This report expands the knowledge of the biogeographic distribution of gastropods during the recovery from the end-Permian mass extinction. The new taxa include Tongweispira sichuanensis, new genus and new species, and the following new species: Ananias guojiashanensis, Worthenia extendia, Gosseletinal dangchangensis, Zygites laevigatus, Trochotoma {Discotoma) gansuensis, Cheilotomona acutocarinata, Naticopsis (Dicosmos) compressus, Naticopsis (Dicosmos) sichuanensis, Naticopsis? ribletella, Neritopsis planoplicatus, Platychilina sinensis, Platychilina obliqua, and Omphaloptycha gansuensis. Paleozoic metamorphism in the Qinling orogen, Tongbai Mountains, central China
The Qinling orogen (Fig. 1) extends for over 2000 km across central China, separating the Archean and Proterozoic Sino-Korean block in the north from the Proterozoic Yangtze block in the south. Although the orogen has been recognized as a continental collision zone for some time, the nature, age, and duration of the collision have been the subject of considerable debate (see review in Hacker et...

Plecopteran species (Leuctridae) were collected from the Qinling Mountains in southern Shaanxi Province, China. This mountain range is home to nine species of Leuctridae belonging to two genera, and the species identified in this work include one new species and three new records for the Qinling Mountains, all belonging to the genus Rhopalopsole. The new species is named R. tricuspis Qian and D...

The multi-index comprehensive evaluation method is used in this paper to estimate the urban–rural integration development level of the Qinling-Daba Mountains in China and build an evaluation index system that is composed by five subsystems and 18 basic indexes. The integration of the indexes is conducted through linear weight sum method and the weight of each index is determined through analyti...

متن کاملA comparison of species composition and community assemblage of secondary forests between the birch and pine-oak belts in the mid-altitude zone of the Qinling Mountains, China.
The mid-altitude zone of the Qinling Mountains in China was once dominated by birch and pine-oak belts but are now mainly covered by secondary growth following large-scale deforestation. Assessing the recovery and sustainability of these forests is essential for their management and restoration. We investigated and compared the tree species composition and community assemblages of secondary for...
