Cardiovascular Authentication: Fusion of Electrocardiogram and Ejection Fraction

چکیده
The most advanced scientific development of biometrics will be to uniquely identify an individual based on their clinically used cardiac physiological and anatomical attributes. Research studies have demonstrated in particular the potential of cardiovascular activity as a biometric marker. Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals and left ventricular Ejection Fraction (EF) measured via echocardiography are relatively unique to an individual. But, the viability of left ventricular ejection fraction hasn’t yet been demonstrated as a biometric marker. This paper proposed a novel method to authenticate a human identity based on the analysis of data received from these two modalities of cardiovascular activities. In this method, the fusion of ECG and EF as a biomedical marker has been used to authenticate an individual. The performance of this method has been tested based on the Equal Error Rate (EER). Experimentation demonstrated the superiority of this fusion method in comparison to the monomodal EGC system.

The fusion band in V1: a simple ECG guide to optimal resynchronization? An echocardiographic case report
BACKGROUND Patients with left bundle branch block have a preserved right bundle branch conduction and the efficacy of left ventricular pacing could be explained with the fusion between artificial pulse delivered in the left lateral wall and the spontaneous right ventricular activation. Moreover, the efficacy of left ventricular pacing could be enhanced with an optimal timing between the spontan...
متن کاملEstimation of Ejection Fraction with Echocardiographic and Cardioangiographic Methods in 50 Cardiac Patients
Ejection fraction is the most important indicator of heart failure. Angiography , is a standard method to demonstrate ejection fraction but it is invasive. Therefore determination of sensitivity and specificity of echocardiography versus angiography is a good guidance for physicians. A total number of 50 patients were enrolled in a prospective study. Two dimension and M-Mode echocardiography...

SUMMARY The relationships between the systolic time intervals determined from simultaneous recordings of the electrocardiogram, the phonocardiogram, the carotid arterial pulse tracing, and direct measures of left ventricular performance as assessed angiographically by measurement of left ventricular stroke volume (SV), end-diastolic volume (EDV), and ejection fraction (EF) were studied in 68 pa...
متن کاملLeft ventricular ejection fraction calculation from automatically selected and processed diastolic and systolic frames in short-axis cine-MRI.
The calculation of the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is dependent upon the accurate measurement of diastolic and systolic left ventricular volumes. Although breath-hold cine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) allows coverage of the whole cardiac cycle with an excellent time resolution, many authors rely on the visual selection of diastolic and the systolic short-axis slices in order t...
