چکیده

Biomedical implanted sensors will benefit greatly from energy harvesting power sources. Although promising devices have been proposed, system complexity and low power levels have been preventing integration into biomedical wireless sensors. We have proposed a simplified architecture which addresses these critical drawbacks. Here we report a wireless node with increased range (1 meter range) and reduced priming requirements (1 volt range), by the use of improved fabrication techniques. Voltage inputs from passive sensors are amplified using energy from device motion, and the motion also provides switching for signal sampling and pulse transmission.

Approaches to self-powered biochemical sensors for in-vivo applications

The requirement for electrical power is a major limitation in the development of biosensors for in-body applications. This paper considers motion powered energy harvesting devices for in-body use, showing that power levels are unlikely to exceed a few microwatts for devices of acceptable size. As a low power sensor, we are developing pH detectors based on metal-metal oxide electrodes, such as i...

EuMC: Wirelessly-Powered Wireless Sensor Platform

This paper presents a low-power (~10μW) 2.45-GHz wireless sensor platform consisting of a three-axis accelerometer, thermometer and skin conductivity sensor. The sensor is powered wirelessly from a distance of around 3-4m with narrowband 2.45-GHz dual-polarized low power density radiation of around 100μW/cm. Efficient power management enables the powering function to be independent of the wirel...

Optimum Packet Length Over Data Transmission for Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of large number of tiny sensor nodes, all of which have sensing capabilities. As sensor nodes are typically powered by nonrenewable batteries, energy efficiency is a critical factor in wireless sensor networks. Sensor nodes want to continue their lives with limited energy. Each of them using its own energy in minumum level and they aims to provide maximum...
