Biocompatible 5-Aminolevulinic Acid/Au Nanoparticle-Loaded Ethosomal Vesicles for In Vitro Transdermal Synergistic Photodynamic/Photothermal Therapy of Hypertrophic Scars

Biocompatible 5-aminolevulinic acid/Au nanoparticle-loaded ethosomal vesicle (A/A-ES) is prepared via ultrasonication for synergistic transdermal photodynamic/photothermal therapy (PDT/PTT) of hypertrophic scar (HS). Utilizing ultrasonication, Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) are synthesized and simultaneously loaded in ethosomal vesicles (ES) without any toxic agents, and 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) i...

Synthesis of new biodegradable nanocarriers for SN38 delivery and synergistic phototherapy

Objective (s): SN38 is the prominent and effective anticancer drug for treating various types of human cancers such as colorectal, ovarian and lung cancers. SN38 is highly toxic, and due to its poor solubility in aqueous media, and low stability and hydrolysis at physiological pH, it has not been used as an anti-cancer drug. To overcome these problems, SN38 was conjugated with new nanocarriers ...

Packaging the Alkaloids of Cinchona Bark in Combination with Etoposide in Polymeric Micelles Nanoparticles

Today, cancer remains one of the major diseases that lead to death. The main obstacle in chemotherapy as a main cancer treatment is the toxicity to normal cells due to Multidrug Resistance (MDR) after the use of anticancer drugs. Proposed solution to overcome this problem is the use of MDR efflux inhibitor of cinchona alkaloids which is delivered together with anticancer drugs encapsulated in t...

In vivo evaluation of the combination effect of near- infrared laser and PLGA polymer containing 5- fluorouracil – loaded Nano-graphene oxide

Introduction: Recently, nanographene oxide (NGO) is proven to be as a great candidate for drug delivery, and phototherapies cancer. Photothermal sensitivity of NGO and its optical absorption in the NIR region lead to photothermal ablation of tumors. Nevertheless, the major drawback of GO is its toxicity in biological systems, To overcome this problem, nanoscale GO prepare with...

BSA-directed synthesis of CuS nanoparticles as a biocompatible photothermal agent for tumor ablation in vivo.

Photothermal therapy as a physical therapeutic approach has greatly attracted research interest due to its negligible systemic effects. Among the various photothermal agents, CuS nanoparticles have been widely used due to their easy preparation, low cost, high stability and strong absorption in the NIR region. However, the ambiguous biotoxicity of CuS nanoparticles limited their bio-application...
