چکیده

This work presents procedures to compute the heat transfer coefficient when downwards flowing pure vapours (or azeotropic mixtures) condense on horizontal integral-fin tubes. At first, single tubes are considered, and the suggested procedure takes shear, gravity and surface tension force into account. The method is compared with a vast data bank demostrating a sound concordance. The second part of the paper considers condensation on tube bundles, also taking the effect of condensation inundation on heat transfer into account. The correlations proposed are compared with available experimental points demostrating satisfactory concordance.

Flow Patterns During Condensation of Pure Refrigerants on Enhanced Tubes Under High Vapour Velocity

This work experimentally investigates the effect of vapour velocity during condensation of a ref rigerant on the outside of a single horizontal enhanced tube with particular reference to the fluid-dynamic mechanisms indu ced by vapour shear stress, surface tension and gravity on the condensate flow. More than 70 experimental runs were done in a transparent test section in order to directly o bs...

Positive Coupling Effect in Gas Condensate Flow Capillary Number Versus Weber Number

Positive coupling effect in gas condensate reservoirs is assessed through a pure theoretical approach. A combination of linear stability analysis and long bubble approximation is applied to describe gas condensate coupled flow and relative permeability, thereof. The role of capillary number in gas condensate flow is clearly expressed through closed formula for relative permeability. While the m...

Three-Phase Modeling of Dynamic Kill in Gas-Condensate Well Using Advection Upstream Splitting Method Hybrid Scheme

Understanding and modeling of three-phase transient flow in gas-condensate wells play a vital role in designing and optimizing dynamic kill procedure of each well that needs to capture the discontinuities in density, geometry, and velocity of phases but also the effect of temperature on such parameters. In this study, two-phase Advection-Upstream-Splitting-Method (AUSMV) hybrid scheme is extend...

Nanofluid Condensation and MHD Flow Modeling over Rotating Plates Using Least Square Method (LSM)

In this study, nanofluid condensation and MHD flow analysis over an inclined and rotating plate are investigated respectively using Least Square Method (LSM) and numerical method. After presenting the governing equations and solving them by LSM, the accuracy of results is examined by the fourth order Runge-Kutta numerical method. For condensation, modeling results show that the condensate f...

Experimental Investigation of the Condensation Heat Transfer Coefficient of R134a inside Horizontal Smooth and Micro-Fin Tubes

The condensation heat transfer coefficient of R134a was experimentally studied inside two smooth and four micro-fin tubes. The working conditions and structural parameters of the test tubes were selected as the influencing factors, and the experiment was conducted under mass velocities of 400–1100 kg·m−2·s−1, condensation temperatures of 35–45 ◦C and water-testing Reynolds numbers of 8000–22,00...
