Electret: a Device for Microelectronic Applications

چکیده
Polymers acquire persistent polarization due to the alignment of dipoles and migration of charge carries over macroscopic distances. Information on the charge storage and transport phenomena in polymer electrets is of great interest for several industrial applications. The present paper is an attempt to elucidate the classification, types, mechanisms, charging methods applications and uses of Electrets. Index Terms – Polymers persistent polarization Electret.

A Micro-Machined Microphone Based on a Combination of Electret and Field-Effect Transistor
Capacitive-type transduction is now widely used in MEMS microphones. However, its sensitivity decreases with reducing size, due to decreasing air gap capacitance. In the present study, we proposed and developed the Electret Gate of Field Effect Transistor (ElGoFET) transduction based on an electret and FET (field-effect-transistor) as a novel mechanism of MEMS microphone transduction. The ElGoF...
متن کاملMicromachining of Electret Materials , Advantages and Possibilities
In this pa er we describe a process for the micromachining of materials like Teflon-FEP. We have used photolithography and plasma etching, by which electrets can be etched selemvely. The advantages of, in such a way micromachined electrets are numerous. Miniature sensors like microphones and pressure sensors, containi6 local areas with Teflon, have been realized in our laboratones. The process ...
متن کاملMicro Electret Energy Harvesting Device with Analogue Impedance Conversion Circuit
A vibration-driven electret generator has been developed for energy harvesting applications. By using parylene as the spring material, a low-resonant-frequency MEMS generator is realized. Large inplane amplitude of 0.8 mm at the resonant frequency as low as 37 Hz has been achieved. With our early prototype, output power of 0.28 μW has been obtained. We also demonstrate electret-powered operatio...
متن کاملLight Dependent Resistance as a Sensor in Spectroscopy Setups Using Pulsed Light and Compared with Electret Microphones
Light-dependent resistances (LDR) are cheap light sensors. A less known light detector is the electret microphone, whose electret membrane functions as a perfect absorber, but only detects pulsed light. The aim of this study was to analyze the use of a LDR and an electret microphone as a light sensor in an optical spectroscopy system using pulsed light. A photoacoustic spectroscopy setup was us...
متن کاملA paper-based electrostatic kinetic energy harvester with stacked multiple electret films made of electrospun polymer nanofibers
This paper reports the first flexible electrostatic kinetic energy harvester (e-KEH) with electret nanofibrous films obtained by electrospinning and paper-based electrodes. The nanofibrous electret outperforms plenary thin film Parylene in the storage stability of charge: the surface potential is stabilized within 1 day, without any obvious minishing during the following 9 days. The output powe...
