Average Coefficients of Friction at Beginning of High and Low Load Tests

چکیده
The results obtained using several analysis techniques have provided varying levels of evidence of differences between the lubricants and loads that have been tested for comparison in this study. Analysis of the friction alone has shown a significant difference between loads, but no significant differences resulting among the different lubricants used. The comparison of total changes in displacement has shown similar results.

Phase transition of the dry friction between crystalline surfaces induced by normal load
A major source of energy dissipation and surface wear is the kinetic friction at the interfaces of sliding bodies. Traditionally, on a macroscopic scale, this undesirable effect is reduced with lubricating the surfaces by introducing oil into their interface. An interesting phenomenon, called superlubricity, has been reported on a nanometer scale where dry (without lubricant oil) fruition and w...
متن کاملUpper bound and numerical analysis of cyclic expansion extrusion (CEE) process
Deformation of the material during cyclic expansion extrusion (CEE) is investigated using upper-bound theorem. The analytical approximation of forming loads agrees very well with the FEM results for different amounts of chamber diameter, friction factor and also for lower die angles. However, the difference between analytical and numerical solution increases at higher die angles which are expla...
متن کاملEffect of Heat Input on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties in Friction Stir Welding of HSLA-60
High-strength low alloy steels are a class of steels used in applications that require high strength and good weldability, including ship hulls, gas pipelines and oil industry. One way to build parts is fusion welding that create areas with a large grain size in the heat-affected zone and increased susceptibility to hydrogen cracking. One way to solve this problem is to use solid state friction...

متن کاملFriction in orthopaedic zirconia taper assemblies.
The torque resistance of zirconia ceramic heads/titanium taper trunnion junctions was tested in accordance with ISO 7206-9:1994(E); using twelve modified heads of 32 mm diameter under representative physiological conditions. Test parameters studied included assembly force, vertical load during test (test load) and head length. Mean torque resistances measured were 8.9 N m for a 1 kN test load a...
