چکیده

Extended analysis of the " penguin " part of K → ππ amplitude Abstract We make an attempt to clarify the role of the annihilation or " penguin " mode in the description of the K → ππ decay within the Standard Model. The attention is concentrated on new operators in the effective ∆S = 1 Hamiltonian and the violation of factorization for mesonic matrix elements of the local four-quark operators. We propose a regular method to evaluate the mesonic matrix elements of K → ππ transitions based on studying three-point correlators via QCD sum rules using the chiral effective theory as an underlying low-energy model for strong interaction. Matrix elements of the QCD penguin operator are calculated within this approach. The total " penguin " contribution is found to be relatively large that improves the theoretical description of the ∆I = 1/2 rule in non-leptonic kaon decays.

We discuss a possibility of large electroweak (EW) penguin contribution in B → Kπ and ππ. The recent experimental data may be still suggesting that there are some discrepancies between the data and theoretical estimations. In B → Kπ decays, to explain several theoretical relations among the branching ratios, a slightly large electroweak penguin contribution and large strong phase differences or...

The K → ππ decay amplitudes are studied within the framework of generalized factorization in which the effective Wilson coefficients are gauge-invariant, renormalization-scale and -scheme independent while factorization is applied to the tree-level hadronic matrix elements. Nonfactorized contributions to the hadronic matrix elements of (V − A)(V − A) four-quark operators, which are needed to ac...

The role of penguin amplitudes in CP violating B decays is reviewed, emphasizing recent progress in the analysis of electroweak penguin contributions. It is shown how these terms are included in a model-independent manner when measuring the weak phase α in B → ππ using isospin symmetry, and when determining the phase γ from B → Kπ applying flavor SU(3). Uncertainties due to rescattering effects...
