چکیده

Interoperability is a strong requirement in open distributed systems and in the Semantic Web. The need for ontology integration is not always completely met by the available ontology matching techniques because, in most cases, the semantics of the compared ontologies is not considered, thus leading to inconsistent mappings. Probabilistic approaches has been proposed to validate mappings and solve the inconsistencies, based on a mapping confidence measure. As probabilistic approaches suffer from the lack of well-founded likelihood measures of mapping correctness, we propose a validation approach based on fuzzy interpretation of mappings, which better models the notion of degree of similarity between ontology elements. Moreover, we describe a conflict resolution method which computes the minimal sets of conflicting mappings and can be the ground of different validation strategies.

A Conceptual Graph Based Approach for Mappings among Multiple Fuzzy Ontologies

Fuzzy ontology mapping is an important tool to solve the problem of interoperation among heterogeneous ontologies containing fuzzy information. At present, some researches have been done to expand existing mapping methods to deal with fuzzy ontology. However, these methods can not perform well when creating mappings among multiple fuzzy ontologies in a specific domain. To this end, this paper p...

An Executive Approach Based On the Production of Fuzzy Ontology Using the Semantic Web Rule Language Method (SWRL)

Today, the need to deal with ambiguous information in semantic web languages is increasing. Ontology is an important part of the W3C standards for the semantic web, used to define a conceptual standard vocabulary for the exchange of data between systems, the provision of reusable databases, and the facilitation of collaboration across multiple systems. However, classical ontology is not enough ...

An Approach to Dynamic Ontology Modification in Mediator Service-Oriented Information Systems1

The paper proposes the approach to cope with the maintenance of dynamically changing resource ontologies of autonomously maintained, distributed, heterogeneous, wrapped information resources and their mappings to common mediator IS ontology. The approach intends to do the work in economical way reducing efforts to matching and aligning only modified ontology elements. Proposed is ontology model...

Intelligent Techniques for Resolving Conflicts of Knowledge in Multi-Agent Decision Support Systems

The biggest challenge for agents’ collaboration in Decision Support Systems is resolving possible conflicts of knowledge. When coordinating activities, either in a cooperative or a competitive environment, conflicts may arise and three basic strategies to solve these conflicts are by means of negotiation, mediation and arbitration. Following these strategies; different intelligent techniques de...

Requirement Conflict Restructuring

Requirements engineering necessitates the analysis of relationships among the requirements of system stakeholders. Poor analysis of these relationships has led to numerous failures. To improve such analysis, researchers have created models and methods for recording, analyzing, and modifying stakeholder requirements. However, the critical aspect of resolving conflicts among stakeholder requireme...
