چکیده
Wireless Sensor Networks, in particular Wireless Body Area Networks, is a technology as allowing blind people, or people with some kind of disability, to live in a safer and comfortable environment One of the most active threats of blind people is variety of obstacles they face while moving in the footpath or coming out from a building.it is necessary to develop a solution that helps blind people while moving either in indoor or outdoor scenarios, simultaneously allowing them to use white cane or the Seeing Eye dogThe proposed system uses an ultra-sound based body area network for obstacle detection and warning which is best solution for blind people.

An LSTM Recurrent Network for Step Counting
Smartphones with sensors such as accelerometer and gyroscope can be used as pedometers and navigators. In this paper, we propose to use an LSTM recurrent network for counting the number of steps taken by both blind and sighted users, based on an annotated smartphone sensor dataset, WeAllWork. The models were trained separately for sighted people, blind people with a long cane or a guide dog for...
متن کاملEmploying Sensor Network to Guide Firefighters in Dangerous Area
In this paper, we intend to focus on the sensor network applications in firefighting. A distributed algorithm is developed for the sensor network to guide firefighters through a burning area. The sensor network models the danger of the area under coverage as obstacles, and has the property to adapt itself against possible changes. The protocol developed, will integrate the artificial potential ...
متن کاملDesign and Development of a Mobile Sensor Based the Blind Assistance Wayfinding System
The blind and visually impaired people are facing a number of challenges in their daily life. One of the major challenges is finding their way both indoor and outdoor. For this reason, routing and navigation independently, especially in urban areas are important for the blind. Most of the blind undertake route finding and navigation with the help of a guide. In addition, other tools such as a c...
متن کاملGuiding visually impaired people in the exhibition
We have implemented a location-aware tour-guide based on RFID localization. The guide is specifically aimed at supporting blind users. We tested it in the context of EuroFlora 2006, one of the most important exhibitions of Europe. In this paper we briefly describe the development process and discuss some preliminary results from usability tests. The experimentation involved over 100 blind peopl...
متن کاملGUARD: A GUide, Alarm, Recovery, and Detection System on a Wireless Sensor Network for the Blind
The paper proposes a GUARD (GUide, Alarm, Recovery, and Detection) system for the blind. The main goal of the GUARD system is to construct an obstacle-aware wireless sensor network and provide guide, alarm, recovery, as well as detection functions for the blind to guarantee his safety and convenience at Tamkang University. Some hardware components as well as communication and management protoco...
