چکیده

Hemodynamic effects of vasodilator therapy (phentolamine or nitroprusside) were studied in 38 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Cardiac metabolism was studied in 19 of the 38 patients. According to the initial level of left ventricular filling pressure (LVFP) and left ventricular stroke work index (SWI), patients were divided into three groups: Group I-nine patients with LVFP 15 mm Hg or less; Group II-14 patients with LVFP> 15 mm Hg and SWI > 20 g-m/m'; Group III-15 patients with LVFP > 15 mm Hg and SWI <20 g-m/m2. In Group I most patients were clinically uncomplicated. In Group IL most patients had clinical left ventricular failure including one patient who had clinical features of cardiogenic shock. Group III patients all had severe left ventricular failure, with eight patients in clinical shock. In all groups LVFP, pulmonary artery pressure, right atrial pressure, and systemic and pulmonary vascular resistance decreased significantly with vasodilator therapy with only a slight to moderate decrease in arterial pressure. In Group I patients SVI decreased (-7%) together with

Hemodynamic responses to insertion of the laryngeal mask airway versus Combitube

Introduction: One of the most common problems during laryngoscopy involves sympathetic system stimulation and the subsequent hemodynamic changes. It is a key measure to maintain the hemodynamic stability of patients with cardiovascular diseases during induction of anesthesia. This study attempted to compare the hemodynamic effects of laryngeal mask airway and combitube. Methods: This prospec...

Comparison of the Incidence of Sore Throat and Hemodynamic Changes in ‎Airway Management by Macintosh, Glideoscope Laryngoscope and ‎Laryngeal Mask Airway Techniques: Randomized Controlled Trial

Background: Studies have shown that postoperative sore throat is the most common complication of tracheal intubation, However, the actual incidence and extent of it are not well documented. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the incidence of sore throat and hemodynamic Changes in Macintosh, Glidescope Laryngoscope and laryngeal mask airway  techniques in elective surg...

Effects of remifentanil and alfentanil on cardiovascular responses to tracheal intubation

Introduction: Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation necessitate to start a surgery and induction of general anesthesia as well as the maintenance of the air way and to provide ventilation. However, Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation may lead to hemodynamic response that appear with the symptoms of hypertension tachycardia, arrhythmia and myocardial ischemia and results in myocardial infarction...

Glucose modulates hemodynamic, metabolic, and inflammatory responses to lipopolysaccharide in rabbits.

Glucose is important for vascular and immunocompetent cell functions. We hypothesized that modifications in glucose metabolism (normal feeding, 24-h fasting, glucose loading) may influence the hemodynamic, metabolic, and inflammatory responses to lipopolysaccharide administration (LPS; 600 micrograms/kg iv) in rabbits. Aortic (ABFV), hepatic artery (HABFV), and portal vein blood flow velocities...

The effect of dexmedetomidine on the hemodynamic responses of endotracheal extubation and sedation level in recovery after cholecystectomy

Background: Emergence from general anesthesia and removing of tracheal tube can be associated with coughing, agitation, and hemodynamic disturbances. Dexmedetomidine is an alpha two adrenoceptor agonist that has effective sedation with less cardiovascular unstability and respiratory depression and may be useful for extubation and prevention of hemodynamic response during tracheal tube removing....

Evaluation of Mexiletine Effect on Bispectral Index Changes and Hemodynamic Responses to Endotracheal Intubation and During General Anesthesia

Background &Objective: Plaryngoscopy and tracheal intubation increase not only blood pressure and heart rate but also Bispectral Index (BIS) of the patients. In this study, hemodynamic and BIS changes were surveyed after tracheal intubation and during general anesthesia followed by mexiletine prescription . Materials & Methods: In this study, 50 patients aged between 20 and 60 who were ca...
