چکیده

The cholecystokinin cholescintigraphic findings of fundal adenomyomatosis in a 29-yr-old male with severe post-prandial pain are presented. Planar cholescintigraphy demonstrated a trilobed gallbladder contour. Following the administration of 0.02 micrograms/kg of cholecystokinin at maximal gallbladder filling, fundal dyskinesia was observed. Regional gallbladder ejection fractions were: whole gallbladder, 43%; proximal two-thirds of the gallbladder, 70%; and gallbladder fundus, 32%. First harmonic Fourier phase and amplitude images demonstrated: (a) decreased fundal amplitude values, and (b) a phase shift of the pixels in the gallbladder fundus.

Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography diagnosis of fundal localized type of gallbladder adenomyomatosis

BACKGROUND Adenomyomatosis of gallbladder is an acquired hyperplastic lesion, characterized by focal or diffuse thickening of the gallbladder with intramural cysts or echogenic areas with comet tail on ultrasonography. But in some cases, especially in the localized fundal type of adenomyomatosis, the intramural anechoic cystic spaces are uncertainty which causes difficult to differential adenom...

Fundal Variant of Adenomyomatosis of the Gall Bladder: An Uncommon Entity

Adenomyomatosis of the gallbladder is a benign and degenerative condition of the gallbladder. It is an incidental finding in gall bladder specimens resected for chronic cholecystitis or cholelithiasis. It frequently occurs after 3rd or 4th decade of life and is often an incidental finding in cholecystectomy specimens resected for chronic cholecystitis or cholelithiasis. Patients with adenomyoma...

Focal Thickening at the Fundus of the Gallbladder: Computed Tomography Differentiation of Fundal Type Adenomyomatosis and Localized Chronic Cholecystitis

BACKGROUND/AIMS The objective of our study was to identify useful computed tomography (CT) findings for differentiating fundal type adenomyomatosis from localized chronic cholecystitis involving the fundus of the gallbladder. METHODS We retrospectively identified cases of 41 patients with pathologically proven adenomyomatosis (n=21) or chronic cholecystitis (n=20) who had fundal thickening of...

Fundal Variant Adenomyomatosis of the Gallbladder: Report of Three Cases and Review of the Literature

UNLABELLED Adenomyomatosis of the gallbladder (adenomyomas or adenomyomatous hyperplasia) is relatively uncommon tumor or tumor-like lesions that are found in 2%5% of all cholecystectomies. They may involve in the fundal localization as a second frequency and have a predilection for the middle and elderly-aged women. Adenomyomas are histologically characterized by epithelial proliferation and m...

Clinical Relationship between Steatocholecystitis and Gallbladder Contractility Measured by Cholescintigraphy

Objective. Contractility of gallbladder is known to be decreased in fatty gallbladder diseases. However, clinical estimation data about this relationship is still lacking. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between steatocholecystitis and contractility of gallbladder. Methods. Patients with cholecystitis (steatocholecystitis versus nonsteatocholecystitis) who underwent cho...
