Early microwave magnetrons

چکیده
The first description of the static characteristics of a device called magnetron was described by A. W. Hull in 1921. The tube had a linear filament in a coaxial cylindrical plate. The plate cylinder was surrounded by a winding, used to generate a magnetic field. The radial electric field and the superimposed magnetic field forced electrons to follow circular orbits before reaching anode. If the magnetic field was raised, the radius of the orbits became smaller and smaller until electrons could not reach the plate, so causing a cut-off condition in the anode current. Hull also noted that just on the border between conduction and cut-off, adding a resonant tank circuit, the tube could sustain selfoscillations.

New Simulation Method of New HV Power Supply for Industrial Microwave Generators with N=2 Magnetrons
This original work treats a new simulation method of a new type of high voltage power supply for microwave generators with N magnetrons (treated case: N=2 magnetrons), used as a source of energy in the industrial applications. This new power supply is composed of a single-phase HV transformer with magnetic leakage flow, supplying two parallel cells, which multiplies the voltage and stabilizes t...
متن کاملImplementation and Optimization under Matlab Code of a Hv Power Transformer for Microwave Generators Supplying Two Magnetrons
The design of this new power supply uses a HV single phase leakage flux transformer supplying two cells, composed each one of a capacitor and a diode, which multiplies the voltage and stabilizes the current. Each cell supplies in turn a single magnetron. This paper treats firstly, a new modeling of this transformer with shunts of HV power for N=2 magnetrons. This model is based on the determina...

The magnetrons used in microwave ovens operate on the same frequency band as Wi-Fi equipment, and the radiation they release can interfere with the operation of wireless networks. This paper presents a multiphysics simulation of a magnetron using CST STUDIO SUITE®, with the aim of testing the electrical, magnetic, thermal and mechanical characteristics of a low-interference magnetron design. متن کاملApplications of microwave heating in mineral processing
Many minerals are effective absorbers of microwave energy, whereas in general gangue materials are not. This suggests applying microwave heating to mineral processing to effect selective heating of minerai phases. Many mineral processing applications have been tested only on a laboratory scale; the engineering realities of large-scale operations have largely been overlooked. Of particular conce...
