Semantic-based Military Scenario Generation for Mission Planning
نویسندگان
چکیده
Traditional manually establish a military scenario is a time-consuming and costly task. The question of representing the mission plan associated with military scenario domain does not yet have a single firm solution. While there is a clear need to capture the internal relationships among the military scenario resources, including unit, equipment, task, force, and COA. The main aim of this research was to investigate how OWL-based ontology, RDF-based metadata, Jena, and MSDL technologies can be used to develop Semantic-based Military Scenario Development platform (SMSD platform) in the military scenario domain. The SMSD platform is implemented based on the multiplelayered military scenario development framework. In order to demonstrate the feasibility of SMSD platform, the study shows how military commander can be assisted to semi-automatically generate a military mission plan with MSDL document.

متن کاملAdvanced UAV Trajectory Generation: Planning and Guidance
As technology and legislation move forward (JAA & Eurocontrol, 2004) remotely controlled, semi-autonomous or autonomous Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) will play a significant role in providing services and enhancing safety and security of the military and civilian community at large (e.g. surveillance and monitoring) (Coifman et al., 2004). The potential market for UAVs is, however, much bigger ...
متن کاملExperiments in Planning and the “ISLAND MISSION” Game
Today‟s complex military endeavours require collaborative planning in a multi-agency context. Collaborative games are useful tools for experimenting with such planning. The “ISLAND MISSION” game, previously presented at SimTecT 2007 as a board game, is one such tool. “ISLAND MISSION” is based on a peace enforcement/humanitarian relief scenario, and players take the role of representatives of Ar...
