Indirect quantification of mitral regurgitation using cardiovascular magnetic resonance: A comparison of techniques
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background Indirect quantification of mitral regurgitation (MR) by cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), currently used as a second-line diagnostic tool after echocardiography, can be achieved by three methods. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages due to the limitations of the underlying techniques used to determine ventricular volumes and/or flow information. The aim of the study was to compare all three indirect CMR methods to determine their agreement in grading MR severity.

DEPARTMENT of CARDIOVASCULAR SURGERY Quantification of Mitral Valve Regurgitation by Left Ventricular Volume and Flow Measurements Using Electron Beam Computed Tomography: Comparison with Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Method Forty-three patients, among them 33 with known mitral regurgitation, underwent electron beam CT and MR imaging. Total left ventricular stroke volume (TSV), antegrade stroke volume (ASV), and mitral regurgitation volume (MRV) and fraction (MRF) were determined and compared between the two modalities. Additionaly electron beam CT measurements were compared with the corresponding echocardio...

Quantitative assessment of mitral regurgitation: comparison between three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography and magnetic resonance imaging.
BACKGROUND quantification of mitral regurgitation severity with 2-dimensional (2D) imaging techniques remains challenging. The present study compared the accuracy of 2D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and 3-dimensional (3D) TEE for quantification of mitral regurgitation, using MRI as the reference method. METHODS AND RESULTS two-dimensional and 3D TEE and cardiac MRI were performed in ...
