چکیده

The paper describes an adaptive algorithm for power and bit allocations in a multiple user Multiple Input Multiple Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO OFDM) system with Space Division Multiple Access, which operates in a frequency selective fading channel. The zero forcing (ZF) technique is applied to accomplish multi user detection (MUD). A Lagrange multiplier method is applied to obtain a one-step solution for optimal power and bit allocations in this system. The resulting algorithm is advantageous over an alternative Greedy algorithm, because it does not require a timeconsuming iterative procedure for its implementation. The algorithm assigns bits and power for all users according to the channel state information (CSI), which is assumed to be fully or partially available to the transmitter. The simulation results show the proposed algorithm operates successfully in multiple user access scenarios.

Optimal Power Allocation in Zero-forcing MIMO-OFDM Downlink with Multiuser Diversity

This paper considers the optimal power allocation for a multiuser MIMO-OFDM downlink system using zero-forcing multiplexing, with the objective to maximize the system capacity. First, we consider the problem of user selection and power allocation for every subcarrier. By converting this combinatorial optimization problem into a convex one, an optimal power allocation algorithm has been derived....

A Low-complexity Power and Bit Allocation Algorithm for Multiuser MIMO-OFDM Systems

In this paper, we present a low-complexity bit and power allocation algorithm for multiuser MIMO-OFDM downlink transmission. In order to minimize the total transmit power under the condition that users'QoS requirements are satisfied, a novel resource allocation scheme is proposed to exploit the multiuser diversity gain. The proposed algorithm involves adaptive subcarrier allocation, adaptive mo...

Cross-layer Packet-dependant OFDM Scheduling Based on Proportional Fairness

This paper assumes each user has more than one queue, derives a new packet-dependant proportional fairness power allocation pattern based on the sum of weight capacity and the packet’s priority in users’ queues, and proposes 4 new cross-layer packet-dependant OFDM scheduling schemes based on proportional fairness for heterogeneous classes of traffic. Scenario 1, scenario 2 and scenario 3 lead r...
