A Skeleton for Parallel Csg with a Performance Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
We describe a methodology for modelling the performance of parallel algorithmic skeletons and illustrate it using a new skeleton which supports set membership classiication problems in Constructive Solid Geometry. These problems are characterised by potentially unbalanced tree structures with data-dependent computations at the nodes. The skeleton achieves good parallel eeciency even with highly unbalanced trees and, with some restrictions on the class of computations permitted , the methodology accurately predicts the asymptotic performance of speciic CSG applications.

We describe an eecient implementation of a parallel algorithmic skeleton which supports set membership classiication problems in Constructive Solid Geometry. A performance modelling methodology is developed, which realistically predicts the asymptotic performance of speciic CSG applications.

متن کاملConstructive Solid Geometry Using Algorithmic Skeletons 1
This paper presents a study in the use of parallel algorithmic skeletons to program applications of constructive solid geometry (CSG). The approach is motivated by the frequent use of divide-and-conquer (D&C) methods in this domain, which are amenable to highly parallel implementation. A prototype Geometric Evaluation Library (GEL) is presented , with a small set of polymorphic higher-order fun...
متن کاملLight distribution in Chinese solar greenhouse and its effect on plant growth
Chinese solar greenhouse (CSG) is universally applied in northern China for producing horticultural products. CSG is characterized by the unbalanced structures with an arched front roof face to the south side and a thick wall as well as back roof in the north side. Such structures affect light distribution in the greenhouse. This study aims to investigate the light distribution properties in CS...
