On a Hyperbolic Coefficient Inverse Problem via Partial Dynamic Boundary Measurements

چکیده
This paper is devoted to the identification of the unknown smooth coefficient c entering the hyperbolic equation c x ∂t u − Δu 0 in a bounded smooth domain in R from partial on part of the boundary dynamic boundary measurements. In this paper, we prove that the knowledge of the partial Cauchy data for this class of hyperbolic PDE on any open subset Γ of the boundary determines explicitly the coefficient c provided that c is known outside a bounded domain. Then, through construction of appropriate test functions by a geometrical control method, we derive a formula for calculating the coefficient c from the knowledge of the difference between the local Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps.

Analytic solutions for the Stephen's inverse problem with local boundary conditions including Elliptic and hyperbolic equations
In this paper, two inverse problems of Stephen kind with local (Dirichlet) boundary conditions are investigated. In the first problem only a part of boundary is unknown and in the second problem, the whole of boundary is unknown. For the both of problems, at first, analytic expressions for unknown boundary are presented, then by using these analytic expressions for unknown boundaries and bounda...

متن کاملA ug 2 01 4 Recovering of dielectric constants of explosives via a globally strictly convex cost functional ∗
The inverse problem of estimating dielectric constants of explosives using boundary measurements of one component of the scattered electric field is addressed. It is formulated as a coefficient inverse problem for a hyperbolic differential equation. After applying the Laplace transform, a new cost functional is constructed and a variational problem is formulated. The key feature of this functio...
متن کاملAn inverse problem of identifying the coefficient of semilinear parabolic equation
In this paper, a variational iteration method (VIM), which is a well-known method for solving nonlinear equations, has been employed to solve an inverse parabolic partial differential equation. Inverse problems in partial differential equations can be used to model many real problems in engineering and other physical sciences. The VIM is to construct correction functional using general Lagr...
