چکیده

One of the most important issues in the area of rubberlike elasticity concerns the relationship between the modulus of an elastomeric material and its degree of cross-linking or the average molecular weight Me between cross-links in the network structure. Molecular theories of rubberlike elasticityl,2 provide predictions of this relationship, of course, for any value of the network functionality q>. Relevant experimental data are rather scarce, however, because of the difficulty in obtaining a reliable independent value of Me for a network.

Comparing the elastomeric behavior and force degradation pattern between different orthodontic elastomeric chains

Background and Aims: Elastomeric chains are known as a current device with the purpose of dental movement in orthodontic treatments. The aim of this study was to compare the elastomeric behavior and force degradation rate between different elastomeric chains existing in Iran in different time durations. Materials and Methods: 11 different elastomeric chains used in this study were: Class One, ...

Model networks of end-linked polydimethylsiloxane chains. I. Comparisons between experimental and theoretical values of the elastic modulus and the equilibrium degree of swelling

Two samples of hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane having molecular weights the order of 2 X 10 and I X 10 gmol1 were separated into a total of six fractions of relatively narrow molecular weight distribution. Portions of one of the unfractionated polymers and each of the fractions were cross-linked by reacting the hydroxyl chain ends, in the undiluted state, with a tetrafunctional orthosi...

Developing a Model for Measuring Severity of Effects Caused by Interconnected Units in Electronic Supply Chains

For many electronic supply chain networks in the world that can comprise hundreds ofcompanies with several tiers of suppliers and intermediate customers, there are numerous presentingrisks to consider. In the electronic supply chain, the situation are even worse, for the characteristics ofthis supply chain: excessive lean management, global sourcing and the rather more uncertain marketdemand. E...

Improving the Proton Conductivity and Antibacterial Properties of Sulfonated Polybenzimidazole/ZnO/Cellulose with Surface Functionalized Cellulose/ZnO Bionanocomposites

New bionanocomposite proton exchange membranes were prepared from sulfonated polybenzimidazole (s-PBI) and various amounts of sulfonated ZnO/cellulose nanohybrids (ZnO/cellulose-SO3H). The use of ZnO/cellulose-SO3H compensates for the decrease in ion exchange capacity of membranes observed when non-sulfonated nano-fillers are utilized. The strong –SO3H/–SO<su...

Kinetics of enzyme-catalyzed cross-linking of feruloylated arabinan from sugar beet.

Ferulic acid (FA) groups esterified to the arabinan side chains of pectic polysaccharides can be oxidatively cross-linked in vitro by horseradish peroxidase (HRP) catalysis in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) to form ferulic acid dehydrodimers (diFAs). The present work investigated whether the kinetics of HRP catalyzed cross-linking of FA esterified to α-(1,5)-linked arabinans are a...
