Case Report A Rare Case of Bipolar Clavicle Fracture

چکیده
Segmental or bipolar fractures of the clavicle generally refer to a concomitant ipsilateral distal clavicle andmidshaft clavicle fracture. These injuries are exceedingly rare and are generally secondary to higher energy injuries. We report a case of a 38-year-old male who sustained a left bipolar clavicle fracture after falling from a push bike while riding recreationally which unusually involved the medial and lateral ends of the clavicle and not the midshaft as previously reported in other patients. The patient’s exact fracture configuration was not immediately apparent highlighting the need for careful examination of the whole clavicle in order to not miss a bipolar fracture.

Simultaneous of Mid Third Clavicle Fracture and Type 3 Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation; A Case Report
Simultaneous mid third clavicle fracture and acromioclavicular joint dislocation is a rare combination injury, as a result of high-energy trauma. We report a patient with a middle third clavicle fracture and ipsilateral grade three-acromioclavicular joint dislocation, which is a rare combination. The patient wanted to get back to work as soon as possible, so the fracture was fixed with recons...
متن کاملOperative Treatment of Bipolar Clavicular Dislocation: A Case Report
INTRODUCTION Simultaneous bipolar dislocation of the clavicle is uncommon and unusual, although it has been documented as panclavicular dislocation, floating clavicle, and complete dislocation of the clavicle. A review of the recent literature indicated that most bipolar clavicular dislocations have been treated non-operatively. CASE REPORT We report the case of a 23 year polytrauma patient w...
متن کاملBipolar fracture dislocation of clavicle: A report of osteosynthesis and early soft tissue reconstruction
INTRODUCTION Bipolar dislocation of the clavicle, also called bifocal or pan-articular dislocation or floating clavicle, is an uncommon traumatic injury. The injury of this case is also concomitant with distal third clavicle and coracoid fracture. This article aimed to report the experience of performing osteosynthesis and early soft tissue reconstruction on these injuries. CASE REPORT We rep...

متن کاملA Rare Case of Segmental Clavicle Fracture in an Adolescent
Clavicular fractures commonly occur in adults and children. The usual mechanism of injury is a fall on the outstretched hand or direct trauma. The usual site of these fractures is the mid clavicle with lateral end and medial end clavicular fractures being less common, respectively. Segmental clavicular fractures have been reported in the literature; they usually occur at the medial and lateral ...
